I always love the essays by OSC.This one brought back many memories, going back over the long decades of general conference watching or listening. They used to put films of the Sat.AM session on plasnes so we in distant Florida decades ago could watch the session Sunday AM.For a brief time,we would go to the Meandering Way stake center in Dallas and listen to each session, with a slide of the speaker on the screen. It was a grand occassion. The opportunity to enjoy the great speakers in our own homes now is truly priceless.
I have many memories of Elder Richards. He was greatly beloved by my ancient Florida relatives and helped organize the first stake in his old Southern States Mission (Jacksonville) in 1947. He helped ordain my father a high priest and the first stake clerk at that event. One of his miriad of grand sons took me to a conference in Orem at the Scera to listen and meet him during my BYU youth. His speeches were materpeices of improv from the spirit.
