mastadon, mastadon, mastadon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I never thought in a million years that I would have read a great review on my favorite band the last five years. Mastodon reminds me alot of Metallica, not that they sound like Metallica, but rather each album they put out differs from the previous one. They push bounderies rather than conform to them. This album is definetly more mellow than Leviathan or Blood Mountain, '94 & '96 respectively. I would call "Crack the Skye" more of a rock album rather than a metal one. "Skye" does have some heavy moments though. If you like "Black Album" era Metallica than you might want to take a listen to this one. Their album art is also very good too.
Sorry, '04 and '06 for Leviathan and Blood Mountain. Whooops!
This band is great. I have been a fan since their first album.
