Poor final two performances

She didn't care so why should we?

Oregon Idol Fans

We enjoyed watching Megan. Best wishes to her in her singing career. Caw-caw-caw

What I have wondered is why a beatiful and talented woman like Megan sports the tatoo on her arm like a badge of honor? It is scary to me and makes her arm look deformed like she is a cripple and to me takes away from hearing her beatiful voice and seeing her lovely face.

Seriously Anonymous? Your worried about her tattoo, which some people see as art. I realize down there in Utah county it might make someone "deformed" but you need to open your eyes and realize its a part of her and what makes her. Come on.

She should have cared, without using criticism to improve, she never will get better.

Leave the tattoo alone

Please

Sambo

She should have stayed true to her quirky singing style. It was what got her that far. When she tried to smooth it out is when she became a little boring. Stay unique!!!

Inevitable...

the women with talent, this year, were eliminated early. Megan wasn't the most talented of the women either... though she's got an interesting sound, it really didn't work well with AmerIdol. I tune in most times now to see what Adam Lambert will do next.

Um....

To Anonymous- Talk about judging a book by its cover!!

Good Luck MJ

I don't know what to say about Megan. I thought initially she was interesting and has, albeit latent, a terrifically unique singing voice. While I respect people who are "true to themselves" and "follow their heart" or however you want to say it, Megan just displayed a tremendous ignorance or arrogance I can't understand. She did not get better in her performances. She made no attempt to apply any serious constructive criticism. She put on this act that she didn't care. She'll never have such a chance again in her life, never. She showed such a callous attitude to everything, I am just sad and disappointed for her. I wish her and her son the best though. I hope that if life experience in the future makes her regret her behavior on Idol, that she can work through it successfully. i for one seriously doubt she'll have any attention from record labels - she's just too rough, inconsistent, and has a downright uncomfortable stage presence.

Re: Good Luck MJ

Ignorance and arrogance? I would be willing to bet that Megan finds plenty of success out of this experience. She is a triple-threat; She can sing, would do great in film, or print. Why so tough on a young lady who did so well? She fits in very well with the current youth movement with her fashion and style. It might not go over big in Utah - but that is not where the entertainment market is anyways.

All the best Megan!

Hate to disappoint, but Megan couldn't sing. Couple that with her awkward stage presence and you have someone that never deserved to make it to Hollywood in the first place. The only reason she was there was because Simon thought she was hot. And I'll give her that.. she has a great smile and a sexy look. She has an interesting tone to her voice. Then again so does my jack russell terrier, but I don't try and pass it off as singing.

I'd say she has a chance at modeling, but her tat has ruined most opportunities for her in that realm too. Maybe a tatoo parlor model.

RE: 12:02 PM

Ignorance or arrogance was perhaps the wrong word(s). I just don't know what to say about what I consider a lost opportunity and lack of interest on her part. It's not so much that she is out at the top 9 (a great accomplishment), its more that I don't see her draw for the future. I'm not talking about Utah at all. She has a following, yes, but most think she's a kook, outside of Utah. However you are right, she has possibly a future in print. She has incredible good looks, no doubt. I hope time proves me wrong, because if she were to get some good voice coaching to help her gain better control of her natural talent she could really be successful. My best to Megan.

As long as Megan thinks that any one who gives her constructive criticism is a "hater"-- if you will -- her career will never go anywhere. There were so many times when she would get criticized and then just ignore it, chalking it up to "people hating" on her. Grow up, sister, and get some thicker skin! To be so arrogant to think you can just do whatever you want because you made it to the final ten in a class that is very top-heavy (not including Megan) is just plain dumb to me! Megan, do yourself a favor and stop listening to your "fans" who wouldn't know a great singer if they saw Aretha Franklin in concert on the front row! Megan, calm down the antics. You're not in high school anymore. Your antics display some real maturity issues that you have. (It's probably part of the reason you're divorced.) You do have a unique voice that can either put bread on the table or make you the most memorable laughingstock of your season on AI. Grow up and start taking singing seriously and you can go a long way.

Talent isn't everything

She was doing everything she should have to appeal to the type of people that enjoy her type of singing. Conforming to Idol would have alienated her from those that are likely to listen to her. It doesn't matter how talented you are if you sing music no one wants to listen to. Megan has a much better chance being successful in music than most of those on Idol who are left. Not saying she will become wealthy but she could make a living at it.

RE: Alex 1:39 pm

Although I think your tone is harsh, I have to agree with you. Did you notice how after she did the childish "caw caw" and headed to the hot seat, she tried to portray this, "oh I so happy because I don't care" - and immediately said "it's alright, it's alright" when it was announced she was done. Further, the look on her face when she sang her last song was one of, I think, a forced and fake happiness. Why did she insist on pretending she didn't care? I believe she did - what contestant actually making it on Idol wouldn't?
