wait a sec... are they saying my decision to keep all my records on Twitter is a bad idea?

Mummy

As with old NASA computers, data from older missions have been lost with the constant upgrades of programs and hardware. The lack of records can become great when a hard drive is lost or data wasn't stored properly. How many photos have people lost with a click of a button or a backup that didn't restore!?! Stories and recorded messages on cassette tapes are lost if not transferred to the updated mediums. I think they are saying a backup copy is great. How many paper records have been microfilmed to be kept on fiche or film in the Granite Mountain?

World Record Keepers...

And yet they cannot seem to find the golden plates?

Dear World Record Keeper

Who says they are looking for them? Joseph Smith said he returned them to the Angel Moroni, who has them. The world is looking for them, but only to use them for financial reasons.

The Lord will not let them have them for that purpose. They are for a spiritual purpose, not a monetary purpose.

What a childish and immature comment you made.

hmmmm

seems to me like the tablets that contained the 10 commandments was never found either. Guess that Judaism thing is a sham too.

And yet they cannot seem to find the golden plates?"

Apparently you are unware of what God says about those who seek for signs.

Let me refresh your memory...

"Matthew 16: 4 - A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign...."

No, I'm not trying to throw this in your face. I am simply pointing out that your attempt to have faith in the truthfulness in the Book of Mormon is being pursued in a foolish manner.

You say "Prove it to me and then I'll believe", but, that kind of an experience doesn't create faith for long. Seeing it will cause you to believe for a while but without a spiritual witness from God through the Holy Ghost you will soon find your disbelieving again.

Good luck.

Use Your Intelligence

As a matter of fact, all religions are indeed a sham.

Who is looking for a sign? I'm not. Such profound ignorance is so foolish. I have no need for religion, mythology or make believe gods and goddesses. As such, I truly have no need for any "proof" of veracity of the Book of Mormon because I already know it is a hoax.

Great Recorder Keepers, but the records are only important if they are considered "faith promoting"

Re: Your comment @ 1:11;

Then why even bother to read the article and make a comment?

Why do school teachers teach? To educate the ignorant. Think of it this way: The diference between science and religion is similar to the difference between a medical doctor and a witch doctor.

Woot!

records: I guess that means you would find my journals faith promoting... :)

This seems to me like a waste of good building space and people's time. Record-keeping is important, no doubt about it. But there is a point of overkill and I think the Church has reached it here.

I have enjoyed doing research, and am grateful that the church has built such a wonderful building to house their collection. There are treasures stored there. You can make arguements over religion or whether it is a gigantic waste of space and money. Until you have visited and found things that benefit you, you cannot really knock it.
So, for all of us who do enjoy reading and researching, I am glad for the gift that it is!

Thanks to the dedicated builders, architects and Church History employees who are giving of their time and talent so that we can have a world class facility. It is so important to know our history and where we came from whether it's for medical reasons or personal interest. I am glad for the importance placed on historical documents and records. Thanks for advancing with the times.
