Stew takes this job. Coaching outside of Logan would require that he plays somewhat of a difficult schedule and that he win in the tourney... No, this is definitely not the job for Stew.

Stay, Stew.
Re: No Way | 8:27 p.m. April 5, 2009
I don't think he takes the job either, but not for the reasons you mention. For the record, the scheduling shtick is really tired (as in...blah, blah, blah, yeah, yeah, we've heard that one...anything fresh in that sad little arsenal of yours?).

Now, were Stew to move on to Wazzu, he'd actually be able to schedule home/home games with quality programs. Why? Because Pullman is NOT Logan. If you're too dense to figure that one out, let me spell out for you. Even mildly successful basketball programs WON'T (i.e. REFUSE to) play in Logan, because they will likely LOSE in Logan, and for the most part, their boosters (you know, the real guys calling the shots in collegiate athletics) don't want anything to do with a loss to Utah State. This is simply not the case in Pullman. WSU is a PAC-10 school (a loss to the Cougars is more tolerable), and stealing a win not nearly as daunting a task. Just ask the U/BYU how easy it is to win at USU (if they can even remember what it is like)...

I think we all would say Stew has done a great job at USU and I would not blame him for moving on if money is the issue.
He is staying | 8:46 p.m. April 5, 2009
But if you he left you cant blame him for taking a raise. Logan is too easy for him to rack up wins. Plus after he is done in Logan, the court will be Stew Morril court. Good luck and GO AGS

if the Aggies can't meet the money package here if this news ended up being true, they should give the Coach more money to keep him. I think Coach likes the Cache Valley community very much...
Stew's not leaving | 7:18 a.m. April 6, 2009
Morrill's not going anywhere. He has set the stage in cozy (yet icy cold and remote) Logan to get 20+ wins every year playing a cupcake preseason and conference schedule, and being in contention for the WAC title every year without really having to recruit at all. He just picks over the leftovers when the recruiting wars are done, and does a great job of finding guys that fit his coaching style.

Other schools know how he operates and know it wouldn't work anywhere but Logan. That's why he only gets courtesy looks from other bigger name schools.
