Bring some credibility to Utah.
We hope that Obama can come and show us the example that is wanting in a politically unstable State.

Obama, I've been to Park City. It's ugly, over priced and stuck up. Catch them in Vail.

Why waste "TAXPAYERS" money in this kind of economy. Perhaps he should learn about a WEB CAM and SKYPES.

While I'm not counting on seeing President Obama in Park City, I have to admit, I pretty much didn't count on seeing him the first time. We planned to wave as he drove by, and yet he stopped and shook *everyone's* hand, after giving a speech. President Obama isn't as partisan as the pundits want him to be, and coming to Utah won't be a roadblock for him. He might not make it, but I bet it's for reasons beyond "those Republicans". If he comes, we'll be planning to wave, once more. Maybe we'll get lucky and get a speech, but even if we don't, it'll be a thrill to wave to our President. At last.

To "Socialism", did you complain about George Bush coming to Utah for a fundraiser in 2008 while his recession was just starting? Did you complain about wasting tax money on flying the 747 jet to attend a private fund raiser for Republicans then?

I bet not, so your complaint now rings extremely hollow, especially when the WGA is composed of the top executives from each western state, both Democrats and Republicans.

Perhaps you don't want him to meet with them and hear them talk about issues so he can help them with the problems the states face?

Perhaps he is proving to be so much better than George at his job and you are afraid he will show that government can work when the leaders care? Of course this would destroy the Republican mantra that government IS the problem.

No reason | 6:40 a.m. April 4, 2009
For BO to visit Utah. No Sundance FF, no movie stars, no swing state potential, no chance of being on Donny and Marie show. Too many guns, too much religion. Stay in France.

Wake up America and realize that Obama is a member of a dangerous political Ku that is over running this country by taking away our agency through marxism faster than we can stop him! He came in when we were unstable, is re-organizing our society and forcing us into a classless people. He blatantly lied the day he was sworn in when he said he would uphold and protect the constitution. That is the last thing on his mind! Our constitution is being destroyed. We aren't letting him socialize our country. Wake UP!

a Huntsman PR campaign to show he is a moderate and position himself for a run. He hasn't got a chance.

It won't be to visit our "enlightened" populace that's for sure!!!!

@Socialism: Did you feel the same way or say the same thing about Bush going to Park City, on Taxpayers' money, for the "important" task of fundraising? I'll bet not. Obama has been invited to this meeting. And from what I can tell, it seems to be an important meeting, not only for Utah, but for the western US. A president willing to go into deep republican waters to hear what they have to say just shows the class of this president. Pull that veil off your eyes, get over your close-minded views, and see that this president, no matter whether you agree with him or not, is trying to make a difference in this world. That's a lot more than one can say about Bush, who's only focus for 8 years was war.

Obama=marxism | 9:56 a.m. April 4, 2009
Obama is slowly (no quickly) taking over our country with more and more government power. Even if they only hold 60% in some companies, that is majority vote, thus government controlled. Marxism looks good at first, but just wait. Look at how the government does with everything else they run. They do a terrible job. It is time to give our country back to the people and avoid communism. Make the companies pay the big taxes. Yeah, but then those companies can't sustain it and go under; consequently, the good American people lose their jobs. On top of all of this, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Retard are as corrupt as they get. Come on American, it is time to stand for what is right.

It's interesting to read the wide range of comments--
from "show us the example that is wanting" to "he lied
about upholding & protecting the constitution." I
personally agreed with Tom Brokaw, when he said at the
time of the inauguration that he doesn't know who
B.O. is--what he believes & stands for. That was
after the campaign for the presidency! It's still pretty hard to see, today, what he believes & stands for. It depends on who his audience is! That in
itself says a lot to me. His actions in these first
73 days show me that he is fundamentally a socialist
who believes in big government w/ big power to take
wealth from citizens & redistribute it. To whom?
To programs for "the poor" that have proven ineffectual in the past? To unions & other groups
that helped elect him? That's what we're seeing
today. Since he is the president, he should be
invited, as he was, to the Conf. Let's see what
happens. I wouldn't take too much stock in any of
his administration's "solutions" to western, or any other area, problems. His solutions so far are not
solutions.

@GWB: "Perhaps he is proving to be so much better than George at his job and you are afraid he will show that government can work when the leaders care? Of course this would destroy the Republican mantra that government IS the problem."

Perhaps???? Seriously Obama is proving to be a bigger disaster than Carter. Afraid??? Absolutely I am afraid of Obama and everything he stands for, the guy is a smooth talking, arrogant moron. Destroy the Republican mantra????? Guess you're not paying much attention to the "TEA" parties that are growing in masses. I'll sip the "TEA" and you keep drinking Obama kool-aid, fool!!!!

Why don't all of you Obama haters admit that he is doing a Great job which far outshines anything that Mac and Palin could ever have achived in the past 100 days.He inherited a Mess from the prior president and his cronies that we will suffer for many years. God Bless Obama!!!!!
RE: Socialism | 4:08 p.m. April 4, 2009
So far, I like the taste of Obama's Kool-Aid. It's helping erase the foul after-taste in my mouth from the previous presidency.
rsp | 6:47 p.m. April 4, 2009
yes, Obama is having a wonderful start. Pandering to the terrorist regime in Iran. Laying down for Russia. Rolling over for the Socialists in Europe whose Countries are circling the drain. If you believe in a one-world Government then you should feel very happy about the new Social Worker-in-Chief.

Can you just imagine where we would be heading now if the Bush Wacker and gun slinger Cheney were still in power? Give us a break. Yuor party put us in the ditch, did you want to be put in the lake? Or the ocean? Please tell us all right here on this web site where you think another republican administration would have lead us, and what they would have done after that stupid stimulus they OK'd with absolutely no restrictions to the lying theives that took us down.
To The Realist | 9:55 p.m. April 4, 2009
Here is reality. B Hussein O has created a blueprint for disaaster. The USA, from the beginning over 200 years ago, was built on a totally different model than B Hussein O hopes to build our future on. We have not been destined to be a socialist state lead by a dictator. We are really to be a Democratic/Republic powered by a free enterprise system. I refuse accept where B Hussein O is taking us. I intend to always respect the office of the President of the United States, but can not and will not respect this man.

@To the Realist

Maybe you can hold your breath for 8 years of Obama's administration....do that honey.

Rabid racists haven't liked anything about Obama, and never will. The use of Hussien was a dead give away.
Johnson | 10:28 p.m. April 4, 2009
C'mon, Obama in Park City??? Park Place maybe, but not Park City.
Rules | 10:38 p.m. April 4, 2009
Let us remember that a free enterprise system gets corrupt when the rules are removed or minimized for the greedy rich.

Loopholes need to be fixed now in this sinking economy.

The deregulation over the past 30 years of republican ran agenda has opened so many abusive holes for the large monopolized companies. Penalty limits of abusing the law are just pocket change for large businesses where ethic violations are rampant now.

Making penalties for disobeying law equal across all businesses by making penaltys by a base penalty + a percentage of the companies revenue would help correct this between big business and small business.

Making the environment more important then the economics is taking place again with the Democrats in power and it is a correction in the course to what went wrong with the republicans agenda.

It would be an honor to have Obama come to the State with so many lovely parks.

Let us not confused with the lip action by the republican run news channels hosts and newspapers.

Action speaks louder than words... Just look at how Oprah has more listeners than all of the republican talk hosts combined.
