My cloudy crystal ball:

For 2012:
I like Doug Wright for the 2nd district, Bishop should be able to get the 1st, Chaffetz get the 3rd and I am not sure who would get the 4th.

For US senate, 2010, I think it will be Mike Lee against Matheson, with Lee wining.

2012 will be Shurtleff against Herbert for Governor.

I don't think Hatch will run in 2012. Morgan Philpot would be interesting.

Both Mitt Romney and Huntsman will run for Pres.

I wouldn't vote for Rocky for anything unless the republicans fielded some real losers.

What about Ken Jennings?

Rep. Jason Chaffetz lives outside of the district he was elected to represent, demonstrating that the creation of districts is antiquated electoral technology.

Only hired political fixers like Webb and Pig prefer districts to better manipulate their game of two-party patty cake.

Proportional representation would allow a constituency of 20 percent of voters to elect one of the four representatives, no matter where they live in Utah.

I really wish we could get this seat before the 2012 election. It would give Utah more opportunity to express itself in the legislative process now instead of waiting.

We need a Republican Member in the House that has the ability and desire to actually do something instead of being the Representatives of 'No.'

We have Bishop who sits around and waits to gauge the political risk before he moves and Chaffetz who's clearly more focused on his PR than he is about doing something. Neither is a leader, especially Chaffetz. At least Bishop has original ideas, Chaffetz worries about his far right constituency and pleasing that element more than being effective and relevant in DC.

I went to high school with Michael Kennedy and he would be an excellent candidate. He's smart and articulate.

I hope he runs.

I think Matheson would make a great senator or governor for Utah. I think he is ranked the third most conservative Democrat in the House or something like that. All I mean by that is that he is definitely not too liberal for Utah. He voted with Bush on something like 15 out of 18 major bills in 2005. He only differs from mainstream Utah republicans on energy (which he happens to know a lot about due to his profession from before being a congressman). In my opinion, he is actually a perfect representative for Utah based on the issues. I know a lot of people in Utah have a problem voting for candidates instead of parties so unfortunately he probably would have a hard time winning a state wide election. I have had many heated discussions with people who wouldn't vote for him just because he is a Democrat, despite the fact that he has represented Utah terrifically and accomplished many amazing things his congressional district. Saint George is certainly a better place because of his efforts.

I like Matheson, but I disagree with many of his votes. Chaffetz is doing great.

What votes do you disagree with?

Matheson tends to vote with the democrats even when I think they are wrong. There are too many that will vote along party lines. It is nice to see that Matheson will break with the party on some.

For those people that think Matheson votes with the republican's most of the time, they are wrong.

Obviously, some think that is good. I am glad both Chaffetz and Bishop break away from a straight party vote.
