high school fan

eaton is good player who will be great....however, note to all high school womens coaches: stop lying about stats! this is just another example to learn from....she did not average 8 rebounds a game as a sophomore guard!...tribune and dnews both have a slight difference in this players stats...coaches in utah, don't guess, estimate or have these player's friends keep stats...good coaches will take the stats off the game film to assure accuracy...give it some thought

He'll be good.

take your time

BYU's Women's Bball program is a mess.

The coaches don't like each other, the players don't like each other, the players don't like the coaches and the coaches don't like the players.

The offensive system is the worst in the conference and they only get wins from pure athletic ability.

They have no development in the players as NONE have improved through their careers.

Don't walk into that mess of a program.

BYU

Is a Great University and who wouldn't be honored to play for them. Congrats

Quick shot elbows

The minute a ball touches the hands of an Eaton, an instant reflex in the elbow immediately hurls the cowhide globe toward the basket. Hope these two get teh same green light all the time at BYU and USU.

Go Lexi!

Lexi oh my goodness I am so happy for you! :) You are amazing and will do super good! I love your guts!

luv, "Sidewinder..." hahaha

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Lexi and Preston! Both are excellent basketball players and even better people. Good luck to you both!

Congrats, Lexie

BYU got a good one, that's for sure. Lexie is a very talented, hard-nosed competitor that will add a lot to the BYU women's program. This is great news. I was afraid she'd go back East and we'd never get to see her play.

Congratulations, Lexie.

Go Devils!

BYU Draw

BYU is an excellent university and for LDS athletes, it is a big draw because they don't have to compete or practice on the sabbath day. That is a big consideration for lots of LDS kids. And being able to play closer to home where their family can come support them is a big deal too.

I think Eaton is a great pickup for BYU. She's a very mature player for her age (only a Sophomore). She has a great coach who can help develop her even further. Barring any bad injuries, she has all the tools to be playing at a very high level by the time she enters college.

BYU Fan

I'm a big BYU fan, but I can't believe someone would pass on a free education at Harvard. It boggles my mind anybody passes on such elite schools. BYU is a good school, don't get me wrong, but by going to Harvard she could set up her descendants by becoming an alum. Ivy League schools are pretty picky about who they'll admit, even athletes.

ron

to answer: you keep up this attitude and you will never be honored your whole life. Let these young people make these decisions (which are not easy)with their parents assistance and without your diatribe. Same to byu fan: your mind has been boggled for a long time. give it a rest. Maybe it will help. To Preston, you have chosen a school up in my neck of the woods and I know you will be treated well. You will have a great coach. To take your time: Your time has passed you by. Get prone and we will plant flowers. lol

Harvard

doesn't give athletic scholarships and it certainly isn't a free education.

Yay, LEXIE!!

This is just too cool. I wonder if a Springville Lady Red Devil has ever played basketball at BYU. Does anyone know? You may be the first.

Ya still have 2 years of high school ball, so I won't say good-bye yet. But I'm so excited about this!!!

?

Will the Cougs EVER recruit anyone from out of state?
What an incestuous program. Not that this kid isn't good, but BYU sports are flatlining.

Mike

"....(Preston) is returning from a mission to Chile and developed a relationship with the aggie coaching staff IN THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS."

If he developed this "relationship" while he was on his mission, isn't that the thing that had the hayseeds from usu complaining about Riley Nelson and BYU??

Re:Yay, LEXIE!!.......OOHHHHH MY GOSH. Really?

re: mikey

How does it feel? The difference is this and I will go slow for you.........Preston was not already going to another school, and therefore was open to anyone talking with him. RN made his choice and a good at that, if you are an AGGIE! Lexie should learn from her brother and go to USU.

Dallas Aggie

Ditto...Riley made a poor choice and completely disregarded all the trust and opportunities that USU offered him. I hope he does well, as he was in my ward growing up. Too bad he will miss out on the up and coming USU brand of football.

re: Mike

I just spoke to Preston's dad. Preston developed the relationship with the USU staff during workouts, etc. before his mission and made his final decision in the last couple of months. The article was simply missing that part.

re: ?

im confused by bryces comment on not recruiting out of state kids. i just looked at the roster and who they signed and of the 14 scholarship kids they have for next year 7 are from out of state. i figure half is pretty good and the utah players they have were all their class mvps.
