well what do you expect when we are governed by millionaires that have never even remotely had to deal with money problems. When you make ten million dollars a year,(and lets just assume they dont hide behind tax cuts and breaks offered only to the rich.)Even after paying 33% in taxes that still leaves them 6.6 million.Until we start to elect people that are truly commoners we will always have these problems. When I was laid off from my 40,000$ a year job and collected unemployment at the rate of 300 dollars a week, i had to figure out which car Iwas going to lose to a repossession. I had to decide whether or not to pay the mortgage or pay the utility bill. These choices do not apply to any one of our elected officials ever!!! But still we are faced with republicans deciding to up our taxes...How about our elected officials give up their paychecks for about 6 months, that would come closer to balancing the economic crunch. Haven't we the turnips been bled enough?

Kudos to the Utah Taxpayer Association!! When the recession hit Utah, the legislatures' immediate reaction was to TRY to raise taxes to "keep government running" as they put it. Utah Taxpayers Association was just one of very real lobbyists for the general public.
I just wish that sometime they could take on the issue of the ludicrously high salaries in some state positions!

RE: CHRIS

I guess you havn't been heard that 50% of all taxes are paid by the top 6% of wage earners. Who do you think creates all the jobs, its't not you, me, or Obama.

re:re:chris

Haven't you heard that its more important to take your eye of the ball (freedom) and play the class, race war game insted.

@ Re: Chris

Haven't you heard that the top 6% of wage earners would have no income if it wasn't for the people working for them? If the top 6% of wage earners don't like paying so much in taxes, perhaps they should pay their employees more so their employees have to rely less on government handouts...
