RSL can hopefully finally win a home opener. Columbus will be a very tough test though. I look for RSL to dominate possession. It will then all come down to finishing opportunities.
I'm gonna throw snowballs at the other team. I can't wait to see Olave score a header again. I'm glad we are catching a break with the Crew missing some of their key guys. If we win big I might be able to convince my wife that we can afford season tickets. Please win for us. I wanna be at all the games this year. I just hope we get a fair offical. Seattle might have won the game but I still think we're a better team than them. I never knew how important Joy was until now. Please get better. Go Mathis, Dreds, Olave, Javi, Will, and Yura. I hope we can see more of our rookies. Even though Alexandre was a 90th minute sub he looks pretty solid. GO REAL SALT LAKE!
Are they still available for Thursdays game?
I was hoping to see USMNT ironman Frankie Hejduk play on Thursday. He was the hero for the USMNT vs. El Salvador on Saturday providing an assist to Altidore and a goal in the 88 minute. Hopefully when the USMNT returns in September we'll get to see him play then. I am excited though for RSL to be back at home!
One of the teams might score a goal!!! I usually hope for a 0-0 tie but maybe my dreams will come true. I don't want anyone to lose though. If one team scores a goal then the other team has to or I will cry myself to sleep because everyone's feelings will be hurt:( I love you so much soccer. You are as cute as a bunny!
To "Oh my gosh!": Go on hater. Keep hating. We love it when you hate. Hate is a powerful emotion. It's cool that we soccer fans really bug you. I enjoy reading your posts. You make me smile. So keep posting hater. It makes make me feel good. Go RSL!
I sure hope that RSL has ironed out the bugs from last Saturdays game. I am excited for the game but kind of nervouse at the same time. NO matter what happens I will always support RSL. RSL fan until I die!!!
The Utah Starzz DID NOT take my tax money to build a stadium.
Similarity between Utah Starzz and RSL:
They will BOTH be history very soon.
Well...the Starzz didnt, but the Jazz did.
The stadium will be full and the game will be awesome. I hope it gets loud. Those games last fall were amazing because of the atmosphere that the crowd created. We don't need to wait until playoffs to generate that kind of energy. We can do it now. We should have been playing the Crew last fall anyway so lets unleash our passion.
Go RSL!!!
Dare we hope for...... a tie??????
I'm giddy with the anticipation of a 12 year old girl with A Twilight DVD.
keep hating. we like it. i like it. the more you hate soccer the happier i am. enjoy your nascar!
It will be a good game. Good for us no Hejduk and Moreno, but we have no attacking alternatives, so I guess we're even.
It's gonna be loud too. . .
Rio Tiento, is that 12 year old girl YOU? haha. I like reading your posts, its funny stuff. I also laugh at YOU because who else in their right mind would take time out of their busy day to do the things that you do? To tell you the truth you are the butt of a couple of jokes here at my office. So keep your good one liners going so me and co-workers have something to talk about at work.
Let's finally get a home opening win! Was I the only one that was impressed with Cox when he came in? That guy was aggressive, showed good ball possession and skill, and looked confident for a rookie playing his first game. Start him instead of Beltran.
GO RSL!
Still say its one guy writing all the anti-soccer posts. Dude can't get a girlfriend, lives home with mom, and has a facination with ho-ho's.
20,000 fans of soccer will sure enjoy tomorrow night.
2-1 RSL.

20,000 recipients of free tickets will throw them away tomorrow night.
RSL is desperate or why would they have free games?
I am a fan of the world's most beautiful game. I had the fortunate opportunity to attend matches in some absolutely soccer-mad countries. Ones where the fans stand and bounce and chant all game long and no one sits in the seats behind them. (Have feared for my life on more than one occasion for being dumb enough to wear the opposing teams jersey.)
Imagine my excitment that here in Salt Lake City, we would have a local club that would generate loyality by thousands of soccer mad kids and their soccer moms! However, unlike their associates in other parts of the world, RSL has yet to have a winning season. Yes, the playoff run was great. But playoffs are an american creation.
Can some math wiz out there help explain to me how 40 points out of 90 possible equals a .500 team? Last year we went 10-10-10. 3 points per win and 1 point per tie gave us 40 points out of a possible 90. A .500 team? I think not!
I am excited at the prospect of improvement by RSL, but I still have my European clubs to keep me satisfied! GO RSL!!!
You complain about playoffs as an "American creation," but then go on and on about what's a ".500 record," which is also an American creation.
Which is to say I more or less don't believe you.
Last year RSL lost 5 of their first 9, and then 5 the rest of the season. It is obvious that while RSL needs some finishing help, they clearly got a great deal more disciplined and better over the course of the year. If you were half the EuroFootyFan you thought you were, you'd probably have picked that up instead of concentrating on American-style stats.
Streaks are certainly important, Mr. "Re: Caution," however the final record is all that counts and what the great football God judges a club by. Truth be told, RSL will need to improve to be able to capitalize on the "hot streaks" you live and die by. Because in the end, that's all that really matters. And YOU KNOW IT!
