Hilarious article! Last night my adult children were watching their kid videos and totally making fun of the clothes we were wearing. No matter what we wear today, some day in the future someone is going to laugh.

Pantyhose are a must at any age, they just look absolutely wonderful. The problem most women have, is that they don't buy the right size, like most of their garments and shoes. Just admit to the right size, and the pantyhose are wonderful to wear.

Ladies, young and not so young, always look great wearing pantyhose. Bare legs look absolutely horrible. They may not say it, but most men DO prefer to see ladies legs in hose.

What is with panyhose?? I agree that it is a generational thing. In the 4o's my mother painted a stripe on her bare legs to imitate the seam in pantyhose. Today, I am looked down on by women in her same generation because I skip the stripe a just go bare legged. The debate rages on, but if a woman wants to look older than she is all she needs to do is don a pair of "Suntan" panty hose. It instantly put her well over 50.

Pantyhose have a classy look that bare legs just can't match. I'm 22 and have worn pantyhose my whole life. I really don't think it ages me.

I love wearing pantyhose and I'm still in high school. I love wearing funky tights with my awesome "Robin Hood" boots (which are the only ones I wear). I honestly can't stand UGG boots, what's up with that fad? They're just so..... archaic looking. I love dressing up, I just wish that guys looked a bit more presentable than they are now.
Shoes? | 5:26 p.m. March 30, 2009
Okay men, what shoes are acceptable? It appears that the only shoe not on the list of unattractive footwear are tennis shoes. Boy those are sexy.

I'm so glad my husband is fashion forward and likes me to wear trendy shoes. I'd die if he was as stuck-in-a-rut as most men seem to be.

As for my opinion on what-not-to-wear for men:
Carpenter Jeans: they are so unflattering and out dated. I can't believe they are even sold anymore.

White Adidas/K-Swiss: Remember the Fred Durst look? (White Adidas and red hat?) Yeah, well it was cool when he was cool.

Pleated dress pants with a bottom cuff: NO NO NO. Try a pair of midrise, flat front slacks. Much sexier.

Hoodies: Try donning a casual blazer. Its much less homeless looking.

Doc Martins: The clunky Docs were cool when carpenter jeans were cool. Unfortunately, neither work anymore.

Shaggy Hair: If you are homeless, shaggy hair is understandable, to those who can afford it, Cut your Hair and SHAVE (especially the soul patch)! Women like clean-cut, kissable, men.

Good Luck, men!

Thanks!! You nailed it. And I am male.
Denim | 7:10 a.m. April 1, 2009
Don't wear it to church or to the office. Denim was meant for jeans.
Crocs~~ | 7:12 a.m. April 1, 2009
What can you do when your wife lives in Crocs? She says they are the most comfortable shoe ever.

Legs without hose show ALL the unflattering things about your legs. I don't care what age you are, unless you go to a tanning booth and work hard to hide all those unsightly things (i.e. spider veins, moles, shaved hair ends), there is not one woman I have seen that can get away with it. They may THINK that going without hose doesn't make them look "hicky", but it does! And, as for aging women who DO wear hose - that's only because women over 50 know what true class is!

Hose and all clothes are better looking if they fit properly. Who cares what size they are? Buy the right size and you will look and feel much better. If someone is rude enough to want to know what size you wear, you can come up with a snappy retort about it being the "right" size. Anything bulging makes you look much larger than you realize - one size larger and you can look absolutely gorgeous. If you feel that you would be losing bragging rights to buy a bigger size, buy a gym membership!
Less than flat tummy | 9:04 a.m. April 1, 2009
Pleated pants hide my "mommy tummy", so I disagree. I'm guessing that the pleated front pants comments are mostly addressed toward men? A tried and true style is timeless. A good fitting pant, with or without the pleats or other offending things, (such as cuffs) if clean and neat, looks better than a style that is too small.

Classy women of any age wear hose.
Confused... | 12:36 p.m. April 1, 2009
Please clarify, are "hose" or "pantyhose" the same as tights? Are some of us here talking about Black tights (or other colors) as pantyhose?
I always thought pantyhose were the nude color things the elderly women wore to cover up veins and discoloration. Please correct me if I am wrong...
not one and the same | 12:52 p.m. April 2, 2009
I think pantyhose and tights are two different things. I personally love tights, but despise "hose". Agree with you on your acessment of "hose".

I wear them everyday no matter what the weather is Hot or cold. Pantyhose have come a long way since the 60, 70, and even 80's they are much more comfortable to wear. I wear the higher end hose, and they don't run as easy, and are more comfortable today then in the 70's & 80's with the new fibers.Think of hose as make-up for the legs. If you take a 10 - 30 minutes in the morning to makeup your face and do your hair, and pick an outfit, then why not take an extra 5 minutes to makeup your legs. I know I get lots of compliments for men, and from some woman on how nice my legs look. Find a brand of hose you like the feel and fit, and start showing your legs in hose. Hollywood is starting to wear hose again, and they are showing up on runways as well. Look at Lady Ga Ga & Katie Perry

Hose/Tights Wearer | 8:13 a.m. April 3, 2009
Hose come in varying thread thicknesses, but all hose and pantyhose are just nice coverings for your legs. Tights are thicker and rarely show thru any leg coloring, but are actually the same thing. The difference is the tightness of the threads. You can also buy many colors, but leg color choices are limited. Nude is usually lighter than your actual skin and suntan is usually darker - so most wear suntan. What your grandmother wore had a garter belt and was NOTHING like pantyhose. I wore a garter belt and was SO excited when pantyhose/tights came along back in the 1960's. We had much smoother "lines" and were very glad. We even had fun color fishnet stockings to wear with our "Twiggy" fashions. If you don't know who Twiggy is...goggle her. She was a fashion model with no bustline to speak of. I'd never go back, but those were the days!
