Just show pure love, in a card, phone call and a visit. There is no fear, when one forgets self,and seeks the welfare of others. Just holding a hand, and listening, can do more than you may understand.
Much of life, we want to do mighty and great deeds,
and fail to see, that it is in the simple acts, that great things are brought about. It does not seem logical, however I have found it to be true.

This article is about my mom, she is 50 years old and dying of a disease that is taking her body away from her at a time when I am not ready to let her go. When I would scrape my knee when I was a little girl my dad used to say to me, "I wish it was me." For some reason just knowing that he cared enough to take my pain away for me made my boo boo not hurt as much. I wish more than anything I could take away my mom's pain and I know of many people, like Joe Cramer, who would be willing to take at least a portion of her pain away if not all of it. That love is what gives courage to my mom, to myself and to all of those who have been touched by my mom's life. I am grateful to Joe for writing this article, for going to dinner with my dad and for having the courage to visit my mom. I am sorry for all of you who are going through the same situation, it's miserable but just know you are loved. It helps.
