We love our wall!!! It makes our jobs all that much more worth while!! And anything that helps our patients is fantastic

TB

We love our patients on East 8 and they continue to be an inspiration to us at all times!! The wall reminds us that there is good mixed in with the bad in this diagnosis.

My son spent many a night on that floor back in 02-04. Reading this reminded me of those days and the life battles that still go on daily.

fromer cancer patient

Hearing the words, "you have cancer" was devastating to me, my husband, children and my siblings. My cancer was caught early; I had surgery to remove it and I was one of the lucky ones, the lymph nodes removed were cancer-free. This article touched my heart, I can feel the therapeutic value the wall has for many and hope hospitals will catch on to the good something like this can do for those who have cancer.

"Saintly Gent" ??????????

survivor

Saintly Gent - tell my 2 year old about his evil lifestyle and how his cancer is a punishment from God. Everybody gets cancer - it does not differentiate between good and evil.

New cancer patient

Saintly Gent obviously isn't close to God nor does he know His way. Affliction comes to everyone in different ways, be he saint or sinner. The test is merely another earthly experience every single person participates in. I am not evil and I know God is with me as I go through this painful process.

Rob

Saintly Gent, I have friends/family who have cancer and they will forever be more of a saint then you will ever be.

Re: Saintly Gent

I read the comments a lot and my guess is that Saintly Gent is one of the anti-Mormons who love to come on here and cause hurt and hate. People like him assume most of the readers are LDS and they believe the LDS are evil and will do anything to stick the knife in. Ignore him. He loves the reaction. He feeds off the despair and anger.

Appalled in Houston

Saintly Gent: Judge not lest ye be judged. Remember that one? or The rain falls on the just and the unjust. Have you forgotten? My mother was a saint. She had three kinds of cancer that finally took her life. She was never evil. She was the kindest, mostly loving and supportive wife and mother.

May God have mercy on your soul

Saintly Gent

I have already prayed for you even though you persecute me.

to the Gent:

Let's go smoke a cigar.

Don't feed the troll who has hijacked this thread. Can't we get back to celebrating this article about overcoming adversity?

Veni, vidi, vici.

Saintly Gent is Anti Mormon???...what a dense comment that shows your true colors. I wonder if the person(s) who sent the white powder to the temple was actually a active Mormon trying to degrade the Homosexual community... does that make sense????

Nope, most likely he's just someone that needs help.

Saintly Gent??????????????

My son has leukemia, I have some family members and friends who have died from cancer, they were and are not evil! They are closer to God, and the most saintly perfect people ever! Your comment is an insult to them and everyone that knows them. They are the cream of the crop, the kindest, sweet, most wonderful people ever! God is with them through it all, they are true examples of Christ like living. God uses them to help save people like you! Please Read Ephesians 4:29-32

re: Veni etc

I will ignore your insults because it is obvious you are not a veteran of how these boards work and the tactics of some of the chronic trolls. I could explain my reasoning but it sounds as if you would not be open to reason. Seriously, let just allow this to get back to the topic at hand.

Sally S.

saintly gent just sounds like another religious freak to me ... who knows what sort of bizarre religion he actually believes in - probably something he has cooked up himself (hey wait - isn't this how some religions actually get started?). What's scary is that he probably actually believes the stuff he is writing!

It is not our place (or ability) to judge or understand the ways of God or the foolishness of men; only to love and encourage each other.

I love the wall in this wing! It is so brightly colored and represents faith and courage. My children love to look at all the new drawings as we walk these halls to visit their Uncle. I believe it even helps my little kids not be so scared of the "hospital" setting.

Veni, vidi, vici.

"will ignore your insults because it is obvious you are not a veteran of how these boards work and the tactics of some of the chronic trolls."

**** First of all... What insults? I disagreed with you not insulted you *sigh* The point I was trying to make was that there are demons in every group... just because it's your group (Religious) doesn't meant you don't have "crazies" And that your "must be anti Mormon" remark was just you trying to justify/ignore/ect the demons you have in your group.

"I could explain my reasoning but it sounds as if you would not be open to reason."

*** Try me... I'm willing to believe that Gent is pretending to be something he's not... Do you have evidence that he is? ... Other then "Gent thinking is bad, and Anti-Mormon is bad; therefore Gent must be Anti Mormon"?

"saintly gent just sounds like another religious freak to me"

*** Yes... I agree, I believe that Religion is not very beneficial to society, with all the intolerance/divisiveness/wars/ ect and Gent is The poster-child for my reasoning.
