Do it locally...

There's a great company locally out of West Jordan (Homer Audio Histories) that will do the same thing. Buy local! Support our economy!

This was a well-written article. I also want to give props to NPR for airing Story Corp.

re: do it locally

uh... StoryCorps isn't charging people to record their stories. They are funded by a variety of grants etc.. So don't buy local. Go record with StoryCorps for free and be a part of something that becomes greater with each person's narrative. They certainly ain't doin' it to make a quick buck!

StoryCorps is a great project, and I love hearing the recorded pieces on Utah Public Radio from Logan. Does the reporter know that the StoryCorps booth has already been to Logan?

I read the book "Listening is an Act of Love", which is a compilation of stories from Story Corps. I recommend it highly. The stories are so varied and it indeed shows that everyone has a story that is as important as the "famous" people stories that are usually told. I have also enjoyed the NPR show as well. It is true that there is no cost to tell a story.

I would hope there would be a chance to travel around the state as some of the best stories might come from the rural areas.
