This is a freaking Joke. the DWR only cares about one thing and that is putting money in there pockets. There are already to many tags issued for the deer and elk herds that we have.

And if we really want to look into the money grabbing philosophy of our DWR look at all the limited entry tags they give to sportsmen groups to sell at auctions, or sell at auction. It is more then all other Western States COMBINED. This has to stop or there will not be hunting in Utah for our kids and grandkids.

Me, Myself, and I

I agree with one of Avid Hunter's points. I too feel the DWR makes decisions primarily based on money. However, I don't think there are too many big game tags issued per population of any given big game species in Utah. The one thing the DWR could do to help hunters, game animals, and their pockets is to increase the number of predator tags. Predators are more of a threat to big game population than hunters and an over abbundant predator population is what we have in Utah. Unfortunately for the DWR, hunters and big game animals, a lot of the predator tags are being purchased by so called environmentalists or environmental groups who then give eroneous feedback to the DWR when they call in a filled tag that they have haven't filled. Under the current predator control system the DWR uses, these numbers are critical to the program managing predator numbers. Yet year after year they are skewed by careless individuals and groups who think they are helping when in reality they are harming game animal populations more than they comprehend. More predator tags mean more money for the DWR and stronger game animal herds.

This is great! Why not have government run like a business. Lets quit carrying deadbeats. All permits should be auctioned to the highest bidder. There are plenty of California would are willing to spent to get a nice mule deer, elk or antelope. Selling tags to the highest bidder is letting the free market rule. Why not auction campsites too?
