I think Cummard will not be missed, he was a disappointment this year and rarely made plays. If the BYU bench is any good, and I think they are, BYU will be much better next year than this year. They might even be better of J.T. leaves too--as strange as that may seem.

until the cougars get some larger and more mobile athletes up front they are not going to be successful. keep your short quick athletes at the guard positions instead of trying to rebound against the much taller players throughout the u.s. I enjoy watching the cougars play and have done so for sixty years. relying on the three point shooting so much will not help the team. you may do well in the league where you play half your games at home, but step in to the big time and you will not be successful. good luck.
Negative? | 9:31 a.m. March 21, 2009
enough with the negative on LC and leave a lone with JT. Be positive. Go COUGARS!

BYU did just fine. In our minds we want or expect them to contend for a national title. Considering that is not the case they won far more than they lost, had some great games, played very well and went to the NCAA March Madness. It would have been great to be in the second round but they didn't.

In any case, I hope they have another solid season next year.
Hartsock's good, but... | 12:27 p.m. March 21, 2009
Hartsock's good, but to suggest that he can replace Lee Cummard is like saying that Chris Miles was able to fill the shoes of Trent Plaisted. Each one has has own talents, but it's hard not to think of how good BYU could have been with Plaisted. Next year, some of the Cummard critics will be complaining about Hartsock or whomever tries to replace him. Cummard was great for four years and I don't see anyone coming in to replace him. Abouo has some real talent, but BYU will miss Cummard next year, just as they really missed Plaisted this year, despite the fact that nobody said much about the "big guy" that A&M noticed was missing.
Re: MWC | 4:07 p.m. March 21, 2009
UNLV was not beat soundly, actually were within 3 points with less then 3 to go. An automatic foul on a trip that was not called turned the momentum and Kentucky hit their free throws to win. But I will give you, Kentucky played above the rim, but UNLV missed many open shots in the first half in route to 1 for 22 or similar three point showing. I agree UNLV was really never in rhythm and was outplayed, just like this whole year has been. Kruger said it best, a team of small guards who can't shoot worth a darn. But they still had a chance to win this game, and of course you are familiar with their impressive wins and disappointing loses. Exactly to be expected with a young team.

Good bye Dave Rose. Hello Stew Morrill....Please............

Haa haa haa haaaaaa!

Rose is a great coach...please everyone remember he started 1 senior this year. Hello... think about it.
Don't Kid Yourself | 8:24 p.m. March 21, 2009
Aggie coach Stew has a long term contract at USU and loves the school and program. You dreamers think you can have what ever you want, just like spoiled brats. While I'm at it I hope Riley Nelson (the traitor) breaks a leg in practice and never plays a game for you. USU only graduates 1 senior as well D-News, just for your lack of mention, and will be double tuff next year. Do you "Wonderful Ones" really think you can have any Aggie you want? What some idiots.
LOOKING FORWARD | 8:44 p.m. March 21, 2009
To a good season.

To losing in the UNLV Invitational.

To losing in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

We know the drill!

The Cougars have it down pat.
Oh well | 9:35 p.m. March 21, 2009
as a Ute fan I have to say...Oh Well. As someone who hoped BYU and USU did well I have to say ...Oh Well. As a Colorado State Fan and Notre Dame fan I said oh well a while ago.

Sport is not life.

I hope Gonzaga does something awesome and wins the tourney...love the cinderella story. Loved it when Danny Ainge bounced the basketball off of the rim so many years ago when they lost to Houston and Ralph Sampson.

It is ust basketball people...Football is right around the corner.

Let the rivalry live but don't let it rule.
Cougars Unpredictable | 9:54 p.m. March 21, 2009
Aggie Fan wishing the Cougars the best. This team was a mystery to me. They beat us obviously early and I feel we improved much since then but all in all I truly thought this was the year that BYU would snap their funk.

JT and Cummard as I see it really didn't help the team like most thought, otherwise they would certainly still be dancing.

It is disappointing for the state that none of us could pull out a win. I am one of those who truly does cheer for the state, so to see all three of us go down was disappointing.

I certainly thought the MWC had made strides in hoops similar to football but the NCAA tourney didn't seem to back me up.

Well it's on to the Jazz I guess.

Cougs should be better without Cummard and even better yet if JT leaves in my opinion.

Good luck Cougs.

go ags.

The theme this year. One and done. Not good for the
showing we had hoped for. Of course, the Pac 10 isn't faring too well either. Unfortunately it looks like the Big East can handle the west (all of the west).
The best game was USU's close one, I was rooting for them even though I am a cougar fan. The Y and the U were outmatched in their games but congrat's to both teams for a good season.

My advice to Coach Rose: Make a visit to Gonzaga and see what they did to build up their program. If one mid major can do it, so can another.
