If any of those that get layed off voted for Obama, should we truthfully feel sorry for them???? My mind says NO!

Then you are heartless.

Scrap Book Mama

This company will continue to see layoffs in the future, until they file for bankruptcy. Their products are very expensive, and the company is not equipped to sufficiently compete in the scrapbooking market going forward.

Loves the Products

The scrapbook industry badly needed a shakeup! SU is in good shape and will survive because it is about STAMPS. Their products are expensive, but are of the highest quality. Many independent stores have closed, and the big box hobby and retail giants sell cheap overpriced merchandise from China. I'm tight with my money, but dollar for dollar, SU products are good value.

Scrap Book Mama's compassion for those who may get laid off is just overwhelming. Actually, Stampin' Up! will never file for bankruptcy because they don't have any debt. And if you don't have debt, you can't go bankrupt.

Stampin Up Lover

I agree with you anonymous. I love when people don't know what they are talking about, don't have the facts, it is a 200 million dollar company they must know something, but then again Scrap Book Mama probably buys her supplies from Infomercials on T.V. and we ALL no the quality of there products. It amazes me that instead of supporting a company that employees Americans supports the economy for Americans they have to bad mouth. I guess they would rather chose to buy products that are poor quality and from foreign companies. Shop America! and Support your Economy!

Misguided

I feel badly for anybody suffering during these difficult financial times. Personally, I feel that Stampin' Up! has hurt their demonstrators as they now allow online sales direct from Stampin' Up!'s website. Therefore, customers do not need demonstrators to purchase products. This has affected motivation to become and stay a demonstrator.

IMHO Stampin' Up! has a misguided model among other things, but I'll stop there.

Kay

If Stampin Up thought their sales were down in March they are in for a VERY rude awakening with their announcement to demonstrators this week about forced demo regulations. This is an extremely bad move on their part and they can expect a drastic drop in sales much beyond the 10% "economic" drop a few months back. It's really too bad.
