Mormons do not originate with the Israeli people in Mexico, and DNA testing has proved it. Even with your "borrowed" use of the Jewish language, "temples, gentiles, etc", will you Mormons leave the poor Jewish people alone? They are tired of pretending that your faith is any thing more than a Cult-ure.

"Get Over It...", Mormons don't believe that they are descended from Jewish people. You shouldn't spout off about something you don't understand.

I'd also like to point out an error in the headline: it should either be "Rabbis' tour of LDS Church sites in Utah" or "Rabbis tour LDS Church sites in Utah."

I am not a member of the church and I think that it is wonderful when two groups of people of very different beliefs can get together and learn about each other. Bravo!!! I wish we could all be like this.

To: "Get Over It..."

DNA testing has proved nothing of the sort. "Temples" and "gentiles" are both words of Latin derivation. By "Jewish language" do you mean Hebrew?

The Hebrew word for temple ("hekal") derives from the Sumerian word E.GAL, a language much older than Hebrew. The Hebrew word often translated "gentiles" (i.e., goyyim) is not a term that Latter-day Saints use.

You are a bigot, and an inarticulate bigot at that.

Gee, you're up early, reading LDS articles, with your great English,"has proved it" & your
missinformation "Mormons do not originate with the -Isreali people in Mexico" huh?
Go back to your mom's basement and learn any kind of culture.

I think you need to take your own advice.

The outreach to others not of our faith is wonderful. The humanitarian donations made by the church each year ease a lot of suffering world wide and the genealogical records -- made available to all for free -- are simply amazing! No amount of sniping or negativity will slow or ever stop the work.

Did they show the Rabbis the big bathtubs of water, sitting on the backs of 12 bovine, in which the Mormons do proxy baptisms of Holocaust victims?

I wonder how well-recieved that was?

As a matter of fact, we did show them the baptismal font during the temple tour, and they had nothing but words of praise for our temple ceremonies. In fact, the GA leading the tour recited the proxy baptismal prayer verbatim, showing that we have nothing to hide. The rabbis also asked about proxy baptisms at the Family History Library, and were very complimentary about our efforts to link generations of families together. I would urge "Amonymous" to spend more time conducting outreach to others and less time speculating about things that he/she knows nothing about. Here's a question for Anonymous: we know that God is gathering Judah (and Benjamin and part of the tribe of Levi) in the Holy Land. What's He doing for the birthright tribe of Ephraim? Only Mormons have the answer.

Imagination and folk lore are not answers, they are for the most part speculatin and more often superstition. But, the big question is why didn't you ask the Jews to accpet you into their church since you wish to belong to the same church as Jesus and Jesus was a Jew, through and through, he never gave up his faith nor did he establish any other church.
