HUMILIATION | 4:28 a.m. March 20, 2009
Humiliated again..

Miles missing easy baskets around the rim.
Cummard throwing bricks.
Fredette looking ordinary.
Rose's lack of coaching, no answer.
Tavenari auditioning for the lead role in Mr Invisible.

Humiliated again.

Face it Cougars | 6:15 a.m. March 20, 2009
Cougar fans have to face the reality that one-and-done is as good as it's going to get, EVER! They're at the peak of their game as far as recruiting and coaching goes, they get the best available, but it's a limited field. Same is true with football, 10 wins and the Las Vegas Bowl. They'll never see a BCS bowl game.

Why does the writer call BYU a dominant team early in the season. They play the weakest part of the schedule then--think they are much better than they really are--and then when they play a couple of good teams they can't figure out what is wrong and why their shooting is off. If they travelled back east more early in the year and played some tough games maybe they would learn how tough it can be.

The refs stole the game from us!
Same song second verse | 8:32 a.m. March 20, 2009
...or maybe 6th verse or 7th verse. I don't know anymore, I've lost track.

The Cougars looked awful. No heart, no fight. Or maybe just not enough talent. I knew when Plaisted left and Miles was going to be our starting center that we were in trouble. I could tell when he was backing up Plaisted that he wasn't going to be "the man". He won't be the answer in the middle next year either.

Cummard never became what most people thought he could be. And what was up with Fredette missing both free throws at one point and then right after that A&M's center got fouled and basically said "Let me show you how it's done little guy" as he sank both of his. Most of that game it looked like boys (BYU) playing against the men (Texas A&M).

BYU called last night asking for a donation. Bad timing on their part. After the pathetic finishes by our football and b-ball teams I wasn't in the mood to make one.

I dont know what you are talking about the REF stole that game. BYU has no talent, you play in a weak conference and really dont deserve to be in the tournament. Get some talent and maybe youll be able to compete against a quality team with quality wins.

"Face It Cougars" has it right. BYU will always be at the top of the MWC but potential for more is limited by their restricted recruiting pool. Following church standards in recruiting is the correct path but will probably put limits as far as national success. Do the best and let the chips fall where they may.
Sorry | 11:33 a.m. March 20, 2009
As a Ute fan AND a MWC fan I had hoped for more...much more. The talent is fine it was the effort/lack of that is most concerning. It was the NCAA tournement you are supposed to leave it all out there, blood, sweat and tears (sorry J. Beck).

What happened, Why did it happen and Who is responsible!!! Again
On Your Mind | 12:57 p.m. March 20, 2009
I am a MWC fan. I know a team from the MWC probably won't win the NCAA title in the next few years but when you get to the tournament you at least need to show up. The MWC needs to give the selection committee a reason to put 3 or 4 teams in the tournament every year. With BYU falling apart like they did, for the second year in a row to the same team, I don't see this happening in the near future. The 8 vs. 9 should be a very close game, instead it looked more like a 3 vs. 14. BYU you have game film on Texas A&M, from last year, vs. your own team. What more do you want in terms of preparation? That game was pathetic for the perception of the MWC. At least Utah State made a game of their 6 vs. 11 game.
Y overwhelmed | 3:21 p.m. March 20, 2009
BYU basketball needs athletes. They need size. Without size or athletes you just get overwhelmed by big time programs. The U was NOT overwhelmed when they played Alabama in the Sugar Bowl BECAUSE the U DOES have the athletes - speed and size - to match up. You could see from the get-go in this match up with Texas A&M that BYU didn't have the athletes to match up. Nothing a coach can do when he just can't match up.
