Too Much Government

What did Huntsman actually do? Beg for federal bailout money. Pushed the legislature to raid transportation money and raise taxes. Reward political pals. Champion tobacco tax to fund family's cancer institute. Traveled to black tie events in DC while Utahns lose their jobs. Fawned over Obama. Read the national press and dream about being president. Now that's what I call leadership!

Why do we actually need a governor? Is this what we are really paying for? We have too much government as it is and it costs us way too much.

Rather than give 6k to folks to buy-up on a house, I say tell those selling homes that the home they bought 6yrs ago really hasn't appreciated 43% and to LOWER THE PRICE to match the real market. How about tell builders to build to the market. Not everyone needs designer shutters, 6 bedrooms, and a 3-car garage - even if they think they do. In reality the 6k really doesn't go to the home buyer anyway, and it really doesn't fix anything.

Amazed at Remarks

Does Gov Huntsman realize that people are not going to jump in and buy homes when they aren't even sure they will have jobs tomorrow? Most of us are just waiting to hear the word, and our houses will also go back to the banks! I suggest you do something to bring back the jobs and our economy!

Gov Huntsman is a big disappointment and cares only for his future and not for the State of Utah.
If he is so concern about Utah, he would have left the liquor laws as they have always been.

Why would he take Federal monies and put Utah under
the Control of Obama and the Congress?

He is nothing but a self serving individual.

Voter

A real leader would not wait until summer to decide what to do with the string-laden pork spending money.

Nor would a real leader convene a committee to provide him cover for his decision.

Jonny needs to show some REAL leadership and conservative principles and decide right now that the strings attached make much of hte "free money" cost more than it is worth to Utah in the long run.

And this clown wants to be President? He cannot even lead the best managed state in the country. He is just getting out in front of the legislative parade and pretending to be a leader.

Natalie

I am proud to have a governor that is a problem solver and a statesman. Thanks to Governor Huntsman for his leadership and his willingness to serve.

There is nothing for the Governor to reflect on--the overwhelming evidence shows that the legislative session was a complete failure. The legislature failed to do anything to remotely help the economic situation. Indeed, the legislature continued to steer the state on an unconstitutional course of government invading every private area of our lives.

I may not agree with Gov. Huntsman all of the time, but he is the best Gov Utah has had for the last 16 years.

The Utah Reps and Senators did a great job, overall.

I think a lot of you show a very superficial knowledge of our governor. It's easy to read the news articles (which most of the time get things wrong anyway) and think that you're an expert on Governor Huntsman, but how many of you have interacted with him on a working level?

Do you really think all he does all day is sit around dreaming of being president? Get a clue people. Of course most politicians have big political ambitions. It's not a conspiracy, and it's not shocking news.

The governor has really done some amazing things for our state and has brought together amazingly intelligent people with amazingly intelligent ideas. So before you bash him, do a little bit of homework. Get involved in the political process and you will see that it's a lot harder to make things happen than it is to sit behind a computer screen reading newspapers and voicing an opinion that is way off the mark.

One question:

If he is "paid to do a job", then who pays him to represent the illegal aliens and greedy employers as he does?
