This man should be denied parole. This community must send a message that it will not tolerate sexual abuse of children. There was a time in this Country when a sex offender would have considered himself lucky to receive a life sentence in prison, rather than a swiftly carried out death penalty.
Keep child molesters in prison.
You see, this is why I don't force my children to go to Church. Who knows what kind of freaks they have teaching those classes? The Church essentially locks those poor kids in a room with these strangers and nobody can really ensure the safety of those kids! I'm not willing to take that chance in exchange for my kids being taught silly stories that they don't even understand.
Well Anonymous- you have not been in a church for awhile have you? Every room is visually accessible with the door shut. Can't say about Salt Lake but where I am from there is always another person usually a woman if a male is teaching a class. But then we do have to have our excuses don't we.
I think this is sad. The guy had unfortunate attractions and was put in a bad place where he wasn't strong enough to control himself. I hope he finds a way to overcome his urges.
To midwest,
Tell that to the kids who were molested.
You hypocritical freaks!
Why didn't God reveal this bad man to the Bishop so he didn't call a pedophile into the primary?
To Anonymous: It's actually a good question, and I'm afraid the answer is probably that the bishop in this instance wasn't as in tune with the Spirit as he probably should have been. But then, I don't know for sure. That's the way it seems to me.
Although the Gospel is perfect, unfortunately not everyone who tries to follow the Gospel is, including bishops.
Why didn't they put FLDS men back in 2006 in prison for sexually abusing children?? Is this a new law in Utah?
I say keep the guy there forever if necessary. By the way SAD,,, Men who do this to children aren't curable.
I know why they are installing see through glass windows on the doors of the classrooms in some of the chapels and to make sure that there are two adult teachers in a room during classes. I do hope this is a worldwide church effort...
