BYU= FIRST ROUND EXIT. AGAIN
BYU will win this game and upset Uconn in the 2nd round. Go Cougars. That is my bracket. (and I am sticking to it)
The Cougars have won three straight regular-season Mountain West Conference titles...no, they have won two straight regular-season Mountain West Conference titles and tied with Utah and New Mexico for a third. Why do you keep reporting they have won three straight? Being tied with two other teams for the title is significantly different that winning the title.
Try to keep the losing margin below 5.
Go Cougs!!!
Go for the 12th!!!
To "Need for Accuracy"...
Being crowned co-champion of the regular season equals winning the title. They are one and the same. Utah and NM can claim the same thing. They each won the regular season MWC title by finishing with identical conference records. If you want to make distinctions, you would have to put BYU first among regular season conference champion equals due to their #1 seeding in MWC tournament.
Unfortunatley, with some DN promoters (I mean reporters) accuracy can be a casualty and I don't believe that it is always just an error. I have noticed and commented in the past that the BYU promoters/reporters view their first responsibility is to keep the courgar faithful in CourgarTown always in hope of something great just around the corner, i.e., Harmons report of a potential top 25 football recruiting class this year based on his inside contacts or a couple of years ago when he proclaimed in an article that Unga was named the Mountain West Conference Freshman Offensive Player of the week. No such award is given by the conference and never has been. Unga was Offensive player of the week for that week. These gentlemen arn't stupid, they are just over the top biased in their efforts to support BYU. As long as everybody understands this then we can overlook their "artistic liberties" with accuracy and look for real reporting elsewhere.
Magic Happens!
One and done!!!! BYU is lucky to be in the Tournament, I think SDSU got snubbed! Utah one and done. USU wins first game.
Please Aggies, don't get too excited. USU has the toughest draw by far of the in-state teams. Not to mention USU is the 3rd best team in the state. I don't think either of those equal an upset.
Slow of foot, slow coaching, no defense, and no shooting, not to mention a 6 11 player who can't jam. One and done.
As much as I hate to admit it i think the Y is going to break through this year.I suppose it's good for the conference, so is Utahs 16 tournament victories since BYU won their last tournament game.Utah has made 5 sweet sixteens ,2 regional finals, the Final Four and played for the national title since the last time BYU even won a game in march madness.Oh,did I mention that the Utes have also produced 4 NBA draft lottery picks in the past 12 years including the number 1 overall selection(Bogut). But hey everyone gather round because BYU might actually win 1 itty bitty game in the tournament. How any rational person can honestly believe that this is a rivalry is amazing to me.I could also make just as compelling an argument about football dating back to 1993.I'll save that for another day, maybe the next time BYU wins a tournament game, say March 2025.
I think BYU has the guns to do some real damage in the tournament; but their will to win is sub par. What i'am saying is if BYU had the energy that SMU did, they would win. Same with UCONN.
I love BYU sports but it's the same old coaching. " we just need to make a few more plays or we need to play a full game" Come on coach; what team in America plays a full game or could'nt say they missed a play or two? START AT THE HEART! You might get somewhere!
BYU should just get on the plane and go home right now and spare everybody the agony of watching them lose in the First Round again. I'm sick of it!!
Mark my words, Jimmer will have a big game!
Go TEXAS A&M!
who ever wins loses to UCONN
Beat those Ags. You're the class of the state and we're all behind you! Shoot well and we win easy.
Just going to help Cougar fans get an early start on excuses:
1- Tip off was too early
2- Referees related to Gov. Lilburn Boggs
3- Not used to being the higher seed
4- No respect equals no performance
5- It's just an honor to be here
6- Too bad the committee doesn't believe us when we say how good we are
7- (Any player) has been injured all year and just didn't let anyone know
blah blah blah...add your own Cougars, just think you could be home by the time the evening session tips off on TV tonight.
I would like to wish my new favorite team, Texas A&M, well and I hope they destroy the little kitties on national television.
Go Texas!!!!
This morning on 1280 the zone they quoted a stat that to me was amazing or unbelievable. Andre Miller has played in more total Tournament games than the History of BYU. He was 11-4 in his career. Wow!!! Good Luck Make us proud!!! Coach Rose deserves it guys get him a W.
