The reason they stepped in in the first place was 1. that the Colorado City officers were not certified (they failed to do that which was required of certification) and 2. There was crimes that were not reported or acted on by the Colorado "officers".
That is why there was another force needed there.

What crimes are we talking about? Speeding?

It's no wonder Buster is getting into it with them. He's the president of Americans Against Abuses of Polygamy, a group of hysterical feminists who want to smear the FLDS any way they can. They even claim, based on Flora Jessop's amazingly faulty "data", that "Colorado City [has] a consistent yearly death rate of 50% children or more, almost every year."

The birth rate is nearly 51% males and 49% females, in a polygamist community that does not compute... you do the math

That's true, not to mention that I don't imagine that they have a good sized pool of eligible FLDS unmarried women available for their existing men. Assuming they also aren't proselyting many into the faith, then you most certainly do have a problem here.

Without real growth in their numbers, in the long term, their numbers will have to shrink and the gene pool will become more and more shallow. The only way polygamy can work in the long term is if you have real growth in the gene pool.

Why does it seem law enforcement has an obsession with the FLDS? With all the violent crime out there, which they FAIL to protect us from, why go for something like this?

Sort of like shooting the parking violators for a good feeling of success, instead of actually going after substantial criminals of violence.

How inadequate and worthless is that?

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
Huh? | 8:29 a.m. March 18, 2009
How are Willie Jessop's bleatings about the perceived threats to their "holy" phallocracy in any way newsworthy?

Freethinker,, sin is one thing, but leading 10,000 of your followers in delusional thinking and actions is stoneable.
Way to Go MOHAVE Sheriffs Dept!!!! Keep up the good work!

someone needs to police the FLDS, and it certainly shouldn't be more FLDS. An outside agency is necessary.

if you disagree with that simple statement, then you ARE FLDS, and you are part of the problem.

stop being part of the problem and be part of the solution.

In the first place...All the current CC police are different than the ones that were decertified. The current ones are certified. 2nd..Reality check... I am not FLDS..not everyone that lives in this area is. We don't like the way the sheriffs treat everyone in this area...they are very rude and intimidating in their demeanor. 3rd if we are going to start stoning all the religious leaders that have led their "flocks" into dilusions we will be at it a very long time.
We don't know them | 3:28 p.m. March 24, 2009
CC police, just like all other police, need to conduct themselves in a highly professional manner. Especially hard in the area they are working, but even more important. The childhood brainwashing, that is happening in that community, is a huge obstical to overcome and any unprofessional attitudes will only support the tainted pictures of our society being taught to this society. Remember, they are taught to except without question the information given to them and that they believe it is the mind and heart of God being shared with them through their leaders. Trust is almost the only thing that would help anyone reach out in desperate times and it sure isn't happening if someone is rude and overbearing. Don't believe a word the FLDS leaders say. They teach their people to lie to the "gentiles."
