No one on the Jazz team can post up as well as Boozer. He is a keeper and I hope the Jazz can keep him.
should be.
Early in the season he sure was vocal about this summer and opting out. Interesting when no one wants you how you don't want to discuss it. I hope Boozer stays but he is in no way ever going to be loyal to the Jazz Organization. And you can't believe a thing he says.
Boozer would be doing the Jazz a favor by freeing up $12.7 million to acquire a backup for Millsap at half the price. You can rant and rave about his superior postup skills, but the guy cannot close the lane, and he cannot guard anyone faster than Erik Dampier.
I don't see him opting out. There's no way he'd get 80% of what he'd get if he stayed, and any team that would pay him more is foolish. For our sake, I hope he gets greedy and follows through on his word.
If he does not opt out, I hope the Jazz trade him away once the season is over. I don't want to see him in a Jazz uniform after this season.
Even he stays, it will be for another season only. Boozer, I wish you well, so, please go to Detroit, or Miami, or OKC, just go somewhere please. Please, don't forget to bring Collins with you.
Boozer nor Millsap is our answer at PF somehow I think David Lee or C-Vill would be a better fit. Imagine D-Will and C-Vill. Kind of catchy
I'm sick of Boozer this Boozer that! Just drop it please! I personnally hope he opts out, the man is as fragile as glass, and a distraction to everyone. The bottom line being we can't afford him and keep the others, so see ya Booze.
Boozer at 85 percent, makes about a 500 percent difference for the jazz. Even though he hasn't hit his stride, he's helping the team. Financially, I'm sure the jazz hope he doesn't opt out; as a fan, I want to see him stay. The jazz have a good group of guys: they play well together. They might not do as well with other teams, but it would be hard for any of them to move on to a better team. The jazz have good coaching, players, and fan support; utah has got to be one of the best places in the nba for a player's career.
I find it hard to imagine myself being worried about making millions of dollars that I won't ever need to be secure. Of course, I have no idea what it's like to be an nba player; I know that if these guys stick around, it's because they work hard. In that sense, Utah isn't the easiest place to play; but the expectations of coaches, teammates, and fans, can bring even more out of a player than what they expect of themselves.
Opt out so we can bring in Fes and Koufos and develop these guys. They can't score like Booze but they are cheap and play defense. Jerry needs to lower his ego and develop these guys. Makes no sense to bring in more youngsters cause Jerry has no patience for them. Go with what we have, they are better than any thing we could draft anyway.
Love booz and love paul. keep em both and get rid of okur!!! go jazzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Boozer the Loozer, and I am not talking about his basketball talent. Boozer is only loyal to one thing and it is not the Jazz, it's Boozer. If we can pickup Millsap, give Koufus more time to develop and send Boozer packing we will be much better off in the long run. Boozer has been a distraction almost from day one when he left Cleveland with a nasty taste in their mouths and believe me he is going to do the same thing to the Jazz when the timing is right for HIM. He has missed almost as many games as he has played, I believe if he had a true love for the game he would have been out on the court playing with some of his nick and cuts just like John Stockton, Karl Malone, and current players D-Will, and Paul Millsap. Boozer is looking to the future and will not play until he looks good enough to go somewhere else. D-Will has gone out of his way to encourage Boozer to come back, its been a waste of his breath. Boozer only cares about Boozer, send the guy packing and stop the frustration.
The Jazz are much better with a healthy Boozer. Problem is, he now has missed half the Jazz games over three of his five seasons, and missed many games in another season with a broken leg. If the Jazz give him such a high percentage of the salary cap, and he keeps missing so many games, the Jazz could become the Nuggets (Camby, McDyess, Martin, Rodney Hillario). The Nuggets have had bigs eating up their salary cap while sitting behind the bench for years. Jazz need to try to avoid that.
Notice how all the Boozer haters have to post anonymously? Boozer is loyal to his family... why shouldn't he want to pursue more money and further his professional career? Would you move if you were offered an extra $1 million dollars a year?
Quit judging him. You are all ridiculous.
The truth is, the reason everyone loves Millsap is cause he is underpaid. Once he signs for big time money you will see that he's no Booze and you will all love to hate him.
Booze I love ya! Come back to the Jazz. I love the left handed dunks, the low post moves, the beautiful jump shot, the uncanny ability to rebound.
Boozer is a far better player than most people here give him credit for. Defense is a weakness, but as Matt says, the sweet jump shot, the rebounding, the ambidextrous moves around the basket...a player with all those things is almost priceless.
The injury problem is a big one, though. How far can you really get with a guy who just isn't available half the time?
Millsap is awesome, definitely good enough to be a starter in this league, but he can't fully replace Boozer. If he was the main PF and there was no Boozer for fans to complain about, there'd still be a chorus of whiners demanding a blockbuster trade for some flavor-of-the-month guy who would never willingly come to Utah and would destroy the team from within anyway.
Boozer might not be loyal to the Jazz organization, but he doesn't have to be. He's good for the team and makes it better, and the playoffs are coming up, and it looks like he's focused on that, just as he ought to be. Bottom line, end of story.
If you ask most people who is the most important person they will all say themselves, so you can't hold that against Boozer. But what I don't like is the attitude that life is all about money, the only thing better being MORE money. Players should stay with their respective teams during this economic crunch. They've got a job already, re-sign with the home team and put that worry away then focus on BB and a championship.
It seems to me Koufus and Fesenko have strong backbones and work for less money, give them a break and let them play. They are both big men, and Koufus showed he can defend with the best. Coach Sloan may not have much patience with rookies now but he just needs to lighten up. Hard to do when for years he's been looking for his first championship title.
What's the matter Booz....economy got your tongue?
It takes a certain type of player to play in Utah. It's still a great place for an NBA Player....If you play in Utah you don't need the big bucks...there's no place to spend it! We need players that love the game of basketball and love super protective fans! The Jazz has more than its share of team players! They play well together, they even like each other...well mostly anyway! Williams, Korver, Brewer, Millsap, Okur are real ! Keep them in Utah....they can play the game!
Boozer needs too much money and adoration to stay in Utah! But we still need his skills. Unfortunately he doesn't spend anymore time in Utah than he absolutely has to!
LEAVE! Give us a chance to win! BTW, nice brick you chucked up with 4 seconds left vs Miami. Some superstar. Overpaid baby.
Does it really matter what Boozer does?
The Jazz will go nowhere with him or without him.
If I had my choice he'd be gone now.
