The media assume that all conservatives follow Rush Limbaugh with bated breath. I know many conservatives who consider him to be a bombastic blowhard and many, myself included, who think he is doing the Republican Party more harm than good!

M. J. Driscoll

As a pro choice conservative Rush has said I am not welcome in the Republican Party. I now vote and support the Libertarian Party as the real conservative choice.

Let's look at Limbaugh. Here's what we see:

His drug abuse. He's a junkie.
His apparent drug dealing, else why did he buy so much narcotics.
His bulk. He's fat and sweaty.
His taste for cigars, Viagra tours, bombast.
His draft dodging; excuse, a pimple on his backside.
His sloth and indolence. Ask his ex-wives.

Taken together, the picture is of a self-indulgent lout who appeals to the poorly educated. What's interesting is that the pary of Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and Eisenhower kowtows to this slob.

I dont know why my comments hasent been shown yet? But as it was breifly stated Rush Limbaugh had a prescription drug problem. I still say I think he still do. I think he should be tested before making any political statements. He seems to need attention. he needs a higherpower, counselor and a babysitter.

It's quite obvious the Obama administration is afraid of Rush because Rush speaks the Truth! And makes Obama look like the ass that he is. And this article was horribly written btw.

john

Who cares, why making a big deal about that dope head.

I agree with the article and don't believe in Rush and his message at all. Traditional voters are not fool by his mixed message. Also, I am fully disappointed in the new President not using the veto pin on the earmark bill... we have been fooled by a smooth talking guy who got me vote... but then the first real opportunity to show us what change is all about.... HE FAILED US... sad for me. Rush is not worth the time either for me to hear any of his message of foolishness... when will a real honest politican step forward... I just don't know anymnore!

It is a shame the repubs look up to Rush as their "role model" of conservatism!! Rush Limbaugh: grossly overweight, drug abuser/addict, married and divorced three times, bounces up and down like Humpty Dumpty on national tv and is the epitomy of VILE! Says much for the republican party, doesn't it??

Entertainment

Rush is an entertainer and nothing else. He designs everything he says publicly to appeal to some and repel others. He is about getting more viewers and listeners. Which in turn means more sponsors and money for himself. He says inflammatory things because they provoke emotions on both sides. He uses very little logic or truth and so therefore many Americans love him or hate him. Personally I choose to ignore him.

I just feel bad for all those who worship him or think what he says is true. That is like saying what John Stossel says is true. Entertainers like these guys take a portion of truth and spin it into something it is not. They grand stand and promote themselves over everything else. After all they are entertainers.

I realize that the "Christian Coalition" thinks it is the only voice of conservative Americans, which is why this writer talks so much of sin and "religious conservatives" as if they are inseparable. Fact is, there are many conservatives who are not part of the "Christian conservative" movement, and/or who would not be accepted by them (Mormons and gay Republicans in particular). That is the major flaw of this whole article.

I don't agree with Rush's personal lifestyle and I think it was a shame for him to be addicted to painkillers at the same time he was criticizing drug addicts. But you'd think a society which can give high approval marks to a president having fun in the White House with an intern, or a secretary of the treasury who didn't bother to pay all his taxes, could forgive someone who has gone through drug rehabilitation.

No, it his message that real conservatives listen to, which is about political conservatism. But go ahead distract yourself with whining about him. Meanwhile Obama will fiddle while the country burns, and everyone will go back into debt to save the economy.

He is no more offensive than...

Barney Frank.... Chris Dodd.... Rahm Emmanuel... Nancy Pelosi....Barbara Boxter....Ted Kennedy...Joe Bidden

The grand difference is Rush is a side show for conservatives. A voice, a view, an entertainer. Conservatives might be guilty of listening to a controversial person in their party on the radio. Liberals elect the detestable of their party. Just look at the above list.

I like how liberals have painted Rush into a corner. How about we pull all of Rahm Emmanuel's skeletons out of the closet. They are much more illegal, devisive, and offensive. What about Bidden, the man who stated he was the top of his law class and one of the smartest politicians of all time (bottom quarter of his law class).

Libs made fun of how dumb Bush was but Kerry had the same GPA.... typical liberals. Please take care of your own garbage in your party and we'll take care of ours....

Liberals welcome the filth of their party into power. Conservatives listen with agreement, ammusement, and disagreement to the controversial of our power. We don't hand them the reins....

Boy in BOYCOTT

As much as Republicans want to blame Rahm and Carville for making Rush the VOICE of their Party.
Rush played into the power vacuum of the RNC and wants to be the RNC king-maker. Since everyone else in the RNC comes off as bumbling weak obstructionists, Rush gets center stage, all for himself. Business for Rush is GREAT, his show plays BEST when he can rail against those Democrats in power. Rush will have this great business for 20 years, Democrats ain't going anywhere.

Boy in BOYCOTT

Republicans get a buffoon on the radio.

Democrats get the White House, both houses of Congress, Majority of Governors, and selection of ALL justices, federal judges, and prosecuters, and control all international treaties.

yeah, I can live with that....dittoheads.

Yes, Rush can't!

Limbaugh is a bloated megalomaniac. He's only a conservative in the sense that he hates the Democratic party.

Wanna talk about electing the detestable members of a political party? Newt Gingrich, Mark Foley, Larry Craig, Tom DeLay, Ted STevens, Dick Cheney...and oh yeah, a president either lied or used bad information (maybe both) to push the country into an unnecessary war.

It's politics. There are plenty of bad apples on both sides.

Too many people these days think that elevating the business of moneymaking above all else makes someone conservative.

Way back when fairness was an American value and the conservative moment was defined by Goldwater and Bill Buckley, conservatism was being defined by intellectuals through civil discourse. This was before conservatives promoted mediocrity. Bill Buckley was an intellectual who attended elite schools, was from and elite family and started an elite magazine: the National Review.

Today, conservatism is a Palin double wide movement that reveres conformity but holds contempt for education and thinks listening to tapes is a way to pick up vocabulary without reading.

It's a religion where you have faith and never question its tenets. It has it's messianic figure in Rush Limbaugh and it punished apostates as RINOs.

Tickle down is believing in manna from heaven. The religion is infallible some blame is cast on those outside the faith.

The right needs to run!

Even most republicans are trying to distance themselves from this nut job. He is an extremist. He is part of a small dying group of hard core conservatives. They are simply trying to cling to what they think is right; implying that EVERYONE else is wrong but them. People like Rush and Beck are just desperate little men claiming they have all the answers. Conservatism to the core. Nothing can change or it is bad.

Reminds me of a show I just watched about villagers in Indonesia concerned that their young generations aren't staying traditional enough. Their young want to progress (gasp an anti-conservatism word).

When Bush and his 6 years of conservative Congress didn't fix any of our problems I don't know why anyone is still listening to these right wing wackos.

For the most part, Dittoheads are nothing more than a pack of middle-aged white men bitter because they believe that if it weren't for all those poo-er people and minorities who got in their way, success would have been theirs. Rather than having this myth reinforced on a daily basis by a self-aggrandizing buffoon, they would do well to take those two hours of vacuous air time and do something with their lives. Hopefully, it's not too late.

Letter Carrier

I used to carry mail to Rush Limbaugh's house when he was still wearing diapers. He is just a copy of his daddy who was a blow hard also. I will say that Rush the third had a very good grandpa and a good mother along with a very good uncle. He is a shame to the human race. Ask any one in Cape Girardeau, MO what they think of him.

It sad how pathetic and hateful the left and liberals really are.

The above posts are proof enough.

@Anonymous
What you read here is so sanitized of how nasty the Progressives could be towards Limbaugh, it makes me laugh thinking this is what you consider hateful. This is more what, Miss Daisy would say about Rush.
