I wonder, is the 20,000 a net loss of jobs? Or were there 20,000 lost and some unreported number created? Just wondering...

Crisis

You should never let a good crisis go to waste.

Paperboy

Government jobloss numbers only count layoffs. They do not count when a position is eliminated when a person is "fired". When a firing takes place the job is not considered lost as opposed to a layoff where the position is considered to be eliminated completely and will not be filled. The problem is that many employers will use attrition to cut its workforce. Basically they fire employes and then never fill the "open" position. The last company I was with did exactly that cut me and several other people loose but never replaced us and have no plans to do so. Those jobs are lost but not counted in government figures. If I had to guess the actual unemployment rate I would put it at 7%.

Hey!

Here's an idea. All Skywest needs to do is tell Obama they need a bailout!

Utah Economy

the Economy is always flat in Utah

Tourism decrease will leave Salt Lake City (again) a marginal expensive stop over by one airlines Northwest, if they manage to survive.

Airline Economy Always Sucks

Skywest may have to deal with the shrinking pains caused by the merger of Delta, and Northwest. On top of United's dut backs.

Some in Utah still think the world is FLAT!
