where is Centerfield? A little more on the reporting?
Hope the clerks are feeling better.
appears these ladies saved the taxpayers some money. well done
that town is near gunnison and have stopped there many a time on way back from wrestling meets...those ladies were nice every time...but desperate people will do desperate things...take care of each other out there.
Ability (of the assailant to do lethal bodily harm) + Opportunity (for the assailant to do lethal harm)+ Jeopardy (in the act of perpetrating lethal harm)= complete justification to use "deadly force."
Still, it will change their lives forever.
Peace be with them.
Maybe they should put a ten foot wall in front of all gun cases and gun racks, that should stop all crimes with a gun right?
I live in Centerfield and frequent Walker's. Horrah to the ladies working there, they're all great. Warning to others thinking of doing things like this in small towns, DON'T DO IT!!!
Let's see if THAT makes the liberal lefty - National news or not.
These women should be commended for keeping their wits about them and acting assertive in order to prevent catastrophe to themselves. These women are great examples of the old fashioned values that made this Country great: courage, loyalty, and respect for the law.
Congratulations to the clerks! Well done! Justice is served. Dead criminals don't commit crimes! I hope someone is able to help the clerks after a tramaic thing like this. They might need a little help adjusting and accepting things.
Don't mess with Sanpete County!
Kudos to the store clerks! Bag em' and tag em'!
Hope the sheriff doesn't waste too much time trying to figure out who the guy was - who cares?
Good job! The west wasn't won on green salads and anti-gun laws!
Hope the girls don't let this effect them negatively. If you play with fire...
I have a hard time reading some of these posts. How some of you can celebrate the death of another human being and pretend to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ is beyond comprehension.
I'm grateful the clerks are safe. I'm afraid for the souls of many of the posters here.
Get off your pulpit "Sad All Around". The fact is this criminal pulled a gun on two defenseless women and was killed in the act of perpetrating a horrible crime. If you're concerned for a soul it should be for the criminal's, not for the people on this comment board who are sick and tired of criminal behavior. And one more thing... who are you to judge how people follow the teachings of Jesus? I, too, am glad this criminal is not in a position to harm anyone else ever again.
Actually, it's quite easy to do when you live in neighborhoods where gangbangers tag every open space, police rarely make arrests, your kids are threatened at school and the feckless educrats in charge do nothing to protect them.
It becomes even easier when you hear effete, clueless elites up on the east bench clucking in disapproval of your lack of "tolerance" for the poor, misunderstood criminal element.
If you ever do happen to come down from your Rameumptom you will see that good people who are forced to live with crime every day are really quite tired of it, and they don't lose a bit of sleep when a dangerous criminal gets what he deserves.
Come on now, ever heard of mapquest, google map? If you want to know where a place is, look it up. It's not that hard in this day and age.
I left Sanpete 6 years ago to serve in the U.S. Military. Things were so different then than what they are now. A life is never an easy thing to loose no matter who it is. Peoples actions define the outcome. In this case whether it was a deserving outcome or not I am not one to judge but I do know there are always two histories with two people. Anyone that intends to inflict harm on a person soley for the benefits they may face is certainly not a person I would feel remorse for. It is a horrible tragedy in which no one should ever have to face but the truth is its never going to stop. People just dont know how to be honest anymore!! I just Hope when I make it back to stay Sanpete Will be the way I left it.
Good job! There'll be one less goblin out 'evil-tricking' & 'self-treating', this year. As for sad-all-around: Perhaps you should re-read how Jesus dealt with and advocated handling, similar miscreants in his time. There is a limit to turning the other cheek. Concerning any thugs who may be reading this and contemplating similar crimes in the future...you'd better wise up and find a less violent line of work. Americans are becoming increasingly fed up. Remember the news commentator in the movie "Network"? CCW permits are a lot more available than in the past. So, the next time you consider 'jacking' that helpless-looking lady at the ATM or that older fella sitting in his car at the intersection, there? Maybe you better think again! Hey, who knows...maybe, civility and manners will come back. One can dream.
