I'm not a fan of ignorance in any form. On one hand you've got doctors with degrees...and a piece of paper on the wall that gives them the right to PRACTICE medicine. On the other hand you've got a group of people with their own paperwork who also want to PRACTICE their craft. Truth is, the "established" and more "respectible" profession feels they have all the answers and no-one outside of their exclusive clubs that get a boatload of free "samples" to pass along to the population as they did pushing Tylenol as the most given medication in hospitals because of a huge PR campaign by whoever makes it, is one side of a two headed but more financially wealthy coin. The other side of the coin is some independent thinking, more open "quacks" that exist outside these big pill pushing corporations. And they've got a champion senator in the state of Utah. And I don't necessarily disagree with him. When I'm sick and there ain't a doctor in the world that has the answer, I'll search outside their "wisdom" to find my own answers.

Congratulations to Utah for recognizing the extensive education requirements of licensed ND's and allowing them to practice to the full extent of their education.
I believe an ND is far more trustworthy and judicious with precriptive rights than most MD's

Folks, it's safe, science/evidence-based medicine with emphasis on prevention. What a concept!

I think very highly of my naturopathic doctor. He has made me healthy with less cost then what I was paying to see a MD. Natural medicine should ALWAYS be our choice, it is much better than being filled with prescription drugs that may kill us. Let us choose for ourselves who we want to go to for our health. As far as using Testosterone that should be an individuals choice.

This is really silly when a Medical doctors practice is the clashing 'opposite' from what a natural pathetic doctor practices. You people need to learn what you are doing because you don't make much sense. How can a medical doctor practice both? The TWO do not go together. It kind of looks like someone is trying to take the business away from the ones who understand natural medicine, and know what they are doing-- Unlike a medical doctor who prescribes drugs that kill.

The government needs to learn to stay out of the choices of Americans. If we choose natural medicine then gosh-darn-it it should be our choice. The government does not understand or know a darn thing about Herbs, Homeopathy or any thing else that is natural, it is not their specialty nor a MD's to know these things. The Gov- puts their uneducated noses where they shouldn't and I'm sick and tired of it! Leave the people ALONE!

My wife just recently got off some "treatments" by a local, naturopathic doctor who jumped in and prescribed a whole concoction of "bio-identical" hormones. This messed her up SEVERELY for the past few months. What really ticks me off is that the so-called doctor is teamed up with an actual M.D. so they can prescribe stuff. She had testosterone, DHEA, "immune support", progesterone and more. She is finally feeling better after getting off of all that. I think that there needs to be better regulations about who can suggest/prescribe lots of that stuff-- even if it is an over the counter herbal supplement, it can still mess you up.

This is what happens when you mix medical doctors with Naturopathic medicine. The MD Naturalpathic doctors are truly NOT NATURAL because they still use harmful drugs. I don't know what the government thinks they are doing by mixing these two different practices into one. It just doesn't work that way. As usual the Government is mingling with stuff they do not understand.

Sorry about your wife. Perhaps she would be better off sticking with her medical doctor if she wishes to use prescribed drugs. Most natural paths I know do not use anything harmful chemicals and definitly NO DRUGS. I have one I see here in SLC who is a wonderful Man.

I suggest you read the labels of the herbs you take or don't take them at all. They are much less harmful then the HARD drugs MD doctors use.

Go read the statistics of how many people die from prescribed drugs given by an MD each year verses going to a naturalpath doctor for herbs--- there are NONE! Do you folks kind of get the picture here or not? So why doesn't the government mind their peas and Q's and leave these naturalists alone. Its kind of stupid for the Government to pass dumb laws that make no sense just to waste tax payers money and give the Medical people more people to kill. They must have a very boring job to set out and cause problems for others. If you people want to gripe about a certain doctor then don't go to them.

Most of the nostrums offered by Naturopath have been proven to have no value and a host of them use dangerous practices and devices banned by the FDA. Naturopaths' remedies are as "natural" as snake bite. The Naturopaths claim their education is the equivalent of medical school because it is accredited by the Dept. of Education. The DOE, however, only looks at administrative practices, not course content. Naturopaths kill, too. Check out the needless death of Megan Wilson in Washington. This 16 year old had an asthma attack and was treated by a Naturopath with acupuncture, a vitamin B shot, some undisclosed herbal and sent home. If the Naturopath had merely escorted the teen across the road to an emergency room, the girl would be alive today. But this licensed, degreed Naturopath didn't recognize or do the simple things necessary to diagnose a severe asthma attack. It is my opinion that Naturopaths should not be allowed to "treat" children.

To: Donna K - you go girl...stick to your guns hopefully some day before we all die or become crippled from the meds that are prescribed to us so easily and not cheaply many of these medical doctors will worry more about their patients than where they are going to go next, what fancy car they are going to buy, etc. Their astronomical charges don't come with compassion and genuine concern. Just move em on out and bring the next one in. Not all are like that but there are too many that are. If Obama has his way the Government will be telling who and when we can go to the doctor, etc. etc. etc. That is socialism and this country had better wake up before it is too late. Use the common sense and wisdom the good Lord gave you and stop sucking into Obama's lies and deception and the same lies and deception that are coming from his deceitful cronies...socialism will kill us and there needs to be more citizens that feel the way Donna K and I feel.
