that's funny

I have never lubed my chain and my bike of 20 years still performs like brand new. They just dont make bikes like they used to,...no wonder why America is going broke, making shoddy products.

Thomas

The only correction that I would make to your comments is America is no longer making the products. Our business people, hoping to MAX-imise profits, have resorted to foreign manufacture of shoddy designs.
Truly American made products were superior since Quality was part of the ingredients, and Quality was the American way. (Yes, there were exceptions).
Congratulations on the success of your bicycle, and I hope you enjoy it for many years to come.

Thomas

Now, before anyone bites my head off and reminds me that quality products have been made in other countries, this is to remind them that I haven't forgotten that. The people who HAVE forgotten that are the entrepreneurs who are out to get money rather than earn it. This is why a substantial number of our products are shoddy. W. Edwards Demming taught the Japanese the Quality Process. We need to teach the Chinese the same. Will they listen? Who knows?

Marc

Both comments are fairly ridiculous. When little pieces of metal rub they need lubrication. Especially when used in inclement weather and under extreme conditions. If you don't put oil in your car it will probably run for a while until the motor totally fails. It wasn't a shoddy product, it was poor use of a well made product.
