You don't understand how much the movie industry brings into the state when there are movies and t.v. series being filmed in Utah. They bring and spend millions of dollars, and provide jobs for a very skilled local industry, and film-crews who live, work and pay taxes in Utah.
Too bad you don't understand the impact of this bill. It will be a significant boost to Utah and to the local film industry. I hope more people are better informed than you!
Utah has lost many productions to other states because they have not over the same type of incenties that other states have. Even with this bill, Utah is still very short of what other states offer.
A truly inspired bill!
The University of New Mexico did a study that showed that their tax rebate program returned 14.44 cents for every dollar spent.
All the studies that show that the rebates and tax incentives pay, are financed by production companies.
Isn't it ironic that Hollywood is dominated by Leftists who think the rich and big business don't pay enough taxes yet they have no problem taking incentives from state and local governments.
Loopholes and pork are what other people get.
