Is there no room for a difference of opinion on fluoride? Why do we have to force everyone to do what we think is best for them?

Public Health Officials Lie About Fluoridation's Safety

The American Public Health Associations (APHA) new Fluoridation Position Statement is based on many documents that neither support nor evaluate fluoridations safety and/or effectiveness as it claims

Heres the truth about a few of APHAs supportive references:

National Research Council (2006)-- This isnt a fluoridation risk/benefit analysis. It found EPAs current fluoride maximum-contaminant-level-goal for drinking water is not protective of health and must be lowered.

Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (2003) -- This report says " subsets of the population may be unusually susceptible to the toxic effects of fluoride and its compoundsthe elderly, people with osteoporosis, people with deficiencies of calcium, magnesium, vitamin C, and/or protein."

NYS Department of Health (1990)-- The authors concluded: some individuals may experience hypersensitivity to fluoride-containing agents. And, it is currently impossible to draw firm conclusions regarding the independent effect of fluoride in drinking water on caries prevalence using an ecologic study design.

As a parent of a child who died of bone cancer, I was horrified to learn that fluoridated water is a contributor to this condition. The government has been reckless to promote fluoridation to help industry at the price of children's lives. It is disgusting and it should be stopped. In Pennsylvania alone there have been two bone cancer clusters in 8 years. Neither the government nor media want to eaplore the causes because they are dependent upon money from industry to perpetuate their careers. It is past time for all of us to realize that our government has turned against us and is killing our children for profit.

1. Why fluoridate at all? Less than 1% of total household water is consumed while the rest is flushed down toilets, washing dishes/clothes, or bathing?

2. Fluoride (actually fluorosilicic acid, which is the chemical used to fluoridate) is neither an essential vitamin nor mineral. No single person can be considered "fluoride deficient.

3. The amount of fluoride in the water is typically adjusted to meet 1.0 ppm. The typical amount of fluoride in mother's breast milk is 0.005, or roughly 200 times less. According to Mother Nature, it would seem that infants were not necessarily meant to receive such a large dosage in their developmental years.

Given these 3 simple facts, I need to understand why anyone would support fluoridation under any circumstances?

There is much difference of opinion but the unbridled promotion based upon ancient flawed studies is unacceptable. Dentists have blinders on ususally and when tested almost none know the current science. Topical posteruptive (like toothpaste) is the only measurable benefit. No researcher in the last 20 years has been able to prove measurable ingested benefit. This is not shared with the public but hidden by CDC and other agencies. From the very first study in 1945 when the data started coming in the dental fluorsis enamel discoloration and porous brittle hypominerization was double the acceptable for whites at 19.3% and 40.2% blacks.. Russel 1962 Grand Rapids. The CDC data shows much higher numbers now but blacks still with double the miderate and severe very ugly every tooth damage. After a 2007 ethics charge the CDC still refused to tell blacks of this very excessive damage caused by fluoridation of dental fluorsis and kidney risk damage double also. Ouir agencies are nothing more then shills and con men in fluoridation promotion. fluoridealert.org and waterloowatch.com botrh show leading researchers and government documents. 19 EPA unions now ask for moratorium.
