Wow this game was an out of reach kind of game, and Bingham came to play. Northridge didn't. But the knights fought and fought the whole game. Without buckwoldt in the 3rd quarter didn't help them in anyway. Smithing is a great point guard, Colby is a wondeful post player. Don't stop keep doing what your doing and never give up! My hat goes off to both teams! Congrats Bingham and good luck further into the tournement!
The Desnews should use this type of headline sparingly. For a moment I thought we had another Columbine on our hands...
You Moron. I cannot see anyway to jump to your conclusion. When the title starts: "5A boys high school tournament" and is located in the sports section, no way to get where you did.
On the tournament though, really a down year for region 2. Region 1 does not look that great either, a bounce or 2 for Copper Hills and Alta and Region 1 could have been 0-for. Regions 3 and 4 look very good, winning 6 of the 8 games handily.
0-4
WOW, I kept hearing from Jordan and Skyline fans how good the region was. Not so much!
Who is the moron here? Did you read about the attack on cricket players in Pakistan today? What abuot Munich in '72? Oh no, there is never ANY vioence associated with sports!!
As long as U.S. soldiers are in harms way, a reference to "bombs" or Wittingham's "live bullets" is irresponsible and insensitive. A Utah Soldier died last week.
Those without loved ones at risk see "bombs" as about sports, those with loved ones at risk are reminded of loneliness, death or fear when they should be able to go to the sports section for relaxation, fun, or escape.
Tough day for Region 2 no doubt. It will be interesting next year with this region realignment - Alta, Jordan, Brighton and Hillcrest join with Lone Peak, Pleasant Grove, American Fork and I believe Lehi. That should toughen up the boys from Alta, Jordan and Brighton and should make for a very tough region next year.

Northridge is not in Region 2.
When I hear the word escape I'm reminded of loneliness, death, or fear of falling into enemy hands. Please be more sensitive.
Did you want them to say,"Bingham blows Northridge out of the tournament"?
Re: Region 2 | 10:06 a.m. March 3, 2009
WHO said they were? It was just a comment on Region 2. There was a comment about Region 1 and Region 2 that was deleted for some reason.
0-4
Skyline
Brighton
Alta
Jordan
Region 3 w/ 3 20+ point beat downs over Region 1.
Congrats your #1 beat our #4 by 3 pts in a 4th quarter comeback.
3rd attempt to post:
The changing point in the game was the poorly called foul on the fast break of Bockwoldt. It should have been a flagrant foul at minimum and possibly grounds for the fouler to be thrown out of the game. A good hard foul is one thing, but that was excessive. It was all downhill from there for Northridge. It reminded me of the foul on Matt Harpring of the Utah Jazz the other night. In that case, the fouling player was ejected! Come on referees...at least make the game safe if you can't make the right calls?!
So that one foul represents a 22 pt blow out?
I watched the northridge bingham game and bingham did not miss it didn't matter who they were playing. I was impressed with how much improved binghams gaurds have become.
bingham was also alot bigger than northridge. which didnt help the fact they were shooting lights out.
Q: So that one foul represents a 22 pt blow out?
A: Paragraph 3 of the article..."After a competitive first quarter, the Miners went on a 22-3 run to put the game away before halftime." When was the foul on Bockwoldt, N-Ridges lone "Big Man"??? Not to mention one of the better athletes on the floor. (including all the Bingham men as well!) Looks like I wasn't the only one to notice the dramatic change in momentum! Bingham is a better team than N-Ridge, but so was Alta vs. Weber...
It was a great foul. It's called not giving up a layup. He is a soft player that wasn't even hurt that bad. He played in the 2nd half and that foul occured with 1:01 left in the 2nd quarter with NR down 16 points. Him leaving did not matter..he wasn't doing a lot anyway and most of his points came late when the game was out of reach and the scrubs were in for Bingham. NR overachieved all year and should be proud of the run they had in region and for making it to state.
that foul was a solid clean foul.
