Comments about ‘Delay on immigration law dies in committee’

The legislators (Dayton, Bramble, Jenkins) don't care about Utahn's citizens going hungry because they won't have a job, shelter for their families, and the services that will be taken away because they want to spend $1.8 million on a bill that will cost the State millions in legal battles. Let's get them out of office as they don't represent or care for the citizens of our state.

Is it not time for ILLEGAL to mean ILLEGAL!!! Where does this Catholic Bishop get the idea that we,citizens of the United States of America, have to accept his definition of ILLEGAL? The majority of the ILLEGALS are of the Roman Catholic church and only serve his church's asperations. Why don't we give him a free ride to one of these southern countries, so he can spend his life working for the people that he favors? ILLEGAL is ILLEGAL Bishop!

Why aren't you people getting it that someday you will have to implement immigration bill then why not today? What are you waiting for? Or you are playing with the hearts of American people? Either implement the law or erase it totally from the history of America.

Administrati are "very interested in talking about" immigration??? That's your proof that something is imminent? That's ridiculus, I'm sure that was the response to concerns anyone brought to them. Sound sympathetic while promising nothing, that is what any politician will do.

Remember when we have to move outside of the United States to another country to have a better life, becuase some people in the U.S. did not like us, jus because of our religion?

Lets do something about it before the phones at Immigration ring off the hook from people that are demanding action. People can actually do something themselves !!! Call immigration on the people involved in harboring illigals. Or just pass the word on to the employers that people are going to be calling and turning them in. We all can take it out of the politicians and handle it ourselves. If the employer and other people know they are being watched, they might think more clearer. Its 1 phone call away. MAKE THE CALLS !!!!!!

People can do alot themselves, and not wait for these politicians to do something. Immigration is a phone call away. If everyone makes the calls, turns employers in for hiring these illegals, people will start to listen. Make some calls people and lets do something about it.

The State of Utah actually sits in what used to be Mexico. So let me ask you, who is really the immigrant here?

Sally 12:17 - you're saying the cost should prevent us from enforcing SB81? How much do we spend each year on the Highway Partol or other state agencies to enforce laws? Are you saying we shouldn't enforce any laws that will cost money?

Utah 9:12, through the treaty of Gudalupe-Hidalgo, we paid (in part) for this territory. Many will argue whether that treaty, and the war it ended, were just, but that is water under the bridge. Besides, any "shortfall" left from the treaty has since been more than made up for by the costs of the social services illegal Mexicans have extracted from us.

It's about time we started to enforce SB81. We've been wating for the feds to do something for 20 years, and they've done nothing and will continue to do nothing. Waiting for the feds is not the answer.

Inmigration laws in this country are useless, there is more than 40 million illegal people here, sending thousands here or thousands there home IS NOT GOING TO WORK.

Illegal immigration distorts the free market. Certain business owners profit at the expense of rank-and-file taxpayers and other businesses who comply with immigration law. This bill would have been interesting if it had attempted to take into account all the external costs of illegal immigration such as medical care, education, law enforcement and other public services. But we all know it just would have amounted to rationalization. It would have served the purposes of special interest groups who benefit from the status quo. We're a nation at a critical juncture. And it seems reckless to allow millions of Mexico's most desperate citizens nominate themselves as the immigrant future of this country. Kudos to the legislators who opposed this, despite the very vocal minority.

Clearly, Isabel Rojas is confused and needs some education on the meaning of Immigrant, Refugee, and Illegal Immigrant. When she says . . . this bill seems not representative of community needs. We know which community she is referring to the community of parasite criminal invaders and the community of business owners who violate multiple laws by employing them. We need strict enforcement of existing laws, yesterday, before theres nothing left of America.

Looks like we got a good list of organizations that need to be watched and avoided. They obviously are more concerned about the illegals than they are about US citizens. Hopefully people will keep that in mind before donating to them.
