wow

congrats to cedar good luck to you great game everyone overlooked you guys congrats

wow is right

What a performance by the whole team today. Nobody gave us a chance and Judge didn't know what hit them. Logan won't be as unprepared but neither will we. Go Redmen!

Yea!

The local cedar city paper says they play the semifinals game tomorrow (Friday) night but this newspaper says they play tonight? Which is it? And way to go Cedar City!!!!

Cubbieman

This is written for Friday's newspaper.

Hey Cubbieman

Weren't you the one who picked Morgan to win in The Judge vs. Cedar quarter final? how'd the pick workout for you?

St. George schools gone

It sure is funny how much Cedar has benefited having those St. George school gone- back in the day they could barely make the playoffs- now with a 4 team region, they are experiencing all sorts success. Has the "program really came that far along," or have they benefitted from current alignment?

Jbulldog

Judge is still the best school in the state.

St. George Schools

Cedar finished 2-1 this season vs the st. george schools including a one point loss to snow canyon. In fact the only team to beat Cedar in the last 2 months is Hurricane. So if you ask me, this season, the St. George schools are lucky to have left. Having gone 0-3 to hurricane, Cedar and Hurricane would have still taking the top spots. The one who really benefits is Canyon View who had a shot at Bear River. Something they never would have had if the St. goerge schools hadn't left.

C Barton

Point guards vs. Big guys. With Noel Hollingsworth Judge never would have lost at state.

reply St. George Schools

You are correct about this year, but in past years that wouldn't have been the case. Traditionally, the St. George schools have dominated that region (3A)- it will be interesting to see how Cedar fairs tonight.

Refion 9

I love that people say that the 3A schools in Region 9 have it easy being in a four team region. Isn't 3 less than 4, sometimes 5. Why don't you all come down and play in Region 9? I would love to see some of these schools play Pine View, Dixie, and Snow Canyon and then try to win enough games against 3A opponents to make the playoffs. Do you think it is odd that Cedar beat heavily favored Judge? It is not a suprise to me, because not only is Region 9 is one of the toughest in the state, but every night is a playoff. There are no weeks off! Even Canyon View was 8-2 in pre season, even beating ranked Waterford by 20. Then they got to the weak Region 9, which they benefit from and couldn't win vs. very tough teams. Wow!

consolation games

I think it is a joke that 3A has consolation games. But then again, I can't think of a more fitting justice for Judge than to have to turn around and play some lame "better luck next year" game after they got their butts kicked by a team they totally overlooked.

...

you shouldn't act like cedar had a very tough schedule they lost to 2a teams this year which speaks for itself, judge just didn't come out and could do anything, probably because of a lack of a big man

Salt Lake Lifer

My hat goes off to the boys from Cedar. The game reminded me of the movie Hoosiers. Sometimes schools like Judge think that they're too big for their own britches.

reply St. George Schools

Of Course you have dominated 3A schools! Hello that is why it is called 3A and 4A! If you don't dominate or beat the 3A schools it should be an embarassment. It is a difference of 500 students!

Cubbieman

Sorry, Cedar fan, no predictions from me, though I would have gone with the trend and picked Judge as well. That's why I don't make predictions.

Mrs S

It is really interesting to me how a lot of comments are about making excuses and giving reasons for Cedar's Success. Could it be that they are just a Great Team! Go get 'em Cedar. We are all behind you!

Congrats!

Good luck in that consolation game today, Judge!

Bball fan

Cedar was not a 'great team' against Judge... Judge shot 3-24 from the 3 point line and went on a 0_16 streak of missed shots. In high school bball it is very easy to sit back in a zone when a team isnt shooting good at all. Judge didnt play well at all, but Cedar is not a 'great ' team by any means.

Coach Cardon and his staff did a great job of preparing his team to play Judge. The kids played really well, and Judge had an off night, but to say that Cedar is a weak team is pathetic. They play a hard aggressive style of Defense, and Defense as we all know can and does win a lot of games. Good luck Craig, you truely are one of the best Coach's in preparing your teams everynight. Go Get'em Cedar.
