She need advisors

This shows a lack of respect for the place, the occasion and others there. It would be like me wearing shorts and a t-shirt to sacrament meeting - - - as the bishop.

Christopher

ummm really? I like the dress. It is a nice dress.

nice arms

Michelle works hard to have such beautiful arms and has the right to show them off just as you have the right to be the clothing police people because the man to her left fights for your right to have nothing better to do than judge others.

Oh please, Michelle Obama is a beautiful woman. A fashion Icon. She is in Vogue magazine for heavens sakes! If my arms were as well toned as hers, I'd wear short sleeves all the time! I can't believe the press is on this issue...go write something about the economy for heavens sakes! I'm heading out to J Crew to stimulate the economy and buy some M Obama fashions myself.

BK

politicians used to wear wigs.

camotim

she is a skank

ohmy

With all the critical issues of our time, can't you write something meaningful and uplifting instead of this immature pettiness? Grow up!! You insult the intelligence of the American people.

oh pleeeeaaaase, a fashion Icon she's not. I'm sure she is a nice person but is puffed about as much as her husband when it comes to their "position". They wreak"arrogance". Soon their eyes will be opened and will not present themselves as they do today. The public will tire of their behavior and hopefully someone will wake up and put some restrictions on Michelle's dinner parties($1oo.oo a pound for steak?) It's our money paying for their extravagant habits..no thanks..hope it doesn't last much longer.

Skank?

Um. nice way to talk about the First Lady. Also, you have no idea what a skank wears...

Perhaps you'd have her wearing a burkha?

My mouth dropped open when I saw her on television -- she looked so very much out of place at such an event and kind of "in your face". I would not think a lady would want to "show off" her tan or anything else about her body. Not the season or the place for that. I am thinking absolutely no one is assisting her with her fashion choices or her appearance. Her husband is getting more help. The only person that brought more attention on themselves was Nancy Polosi. She looked like a cartoon character. It was striking how the majority of the group looked so phony, in love and "full of themselves" at such a serious time.

I really don't know why this is an issue. As a separate but related issue, I still to this day don't know why guys would dress up in a suit for an outdoor wedding in the summer. Makes no sense, far too hot.

Simply put, Michelle is VAIN about her arms and wants to show them off. As was quoted in this article, it IS winter--not summer; it IS a solemn occasion--not the kind of event in which to draw attention to herself, and that's exactly what Michelle was doing. She's now moving in Washington's high society government circles, and really ought to remember that she represents the American people, NOT her favorite fashion designers. (Or her favorite physical fitness trainer, either.)

Although Ms. Obama should be applauded for her devotion to healthy exercise, she should be a better example of using judgment. In a formal setting such as this, she should be an example of the old fashioned values that made this Country great: modesty, reverence, and prudence.

What's all the negativism about Michelle Obama's sleeveless dresses? As I remember, Jackie Kennedy often wore sleeveless dresses with the hem ABOVE the knee! And that was in the 60's!! I don't remember anyone complaining about either! The clothes Michelle wears are in good taste and are flattering. Looks like we have a bunch of "jealous frumps" with saggy upper arms who cannot do anything but criticize others. Get yourselves to the gym, tone your own arms/body and wear sleeveless dresses/blouses and feel good about yourselves. :)

What's the big deal? If sleeveless is comfortable and not unattractive, go for it! Michelle's wardrobe is inspiring.
