As always the southern teams are ranked to high. I knew this loss would happen.
put a stop to Hurricane's quest for the football title also? What a bummer for the Tiger's.
talk talk talk thats all the southern teams do is talk!
I agree with you on how the southern teams are ranked way to high. I also think people give Judge more credit then they deserve. Carbon came really close to beating them and the paper didn't even give Carbon a chance. I knew Juan Diego would win the game. Juan Diego has some really good players. Pablo Coro is one of them. If college coaches haven't seen him play, they might want too. I think he could make a JC team and do really well.
Keep talking about how southern teams are ranked too high cedar beat judge by 20 and it seems a few years ago it was 2 southern teams in the championship
Pablo is playing at weber state. He signed one week after he came to America, which was at the start of the school year
its funny that you think deseret news' rankings mean anything and are arguing about southern teams being ranked too high. get over it. why don't you talk about how any school that can recruit is allowed to compete in 3A. i'm not just saying this because the teams are winning, its been an argument of mine for years. and some of you will mention how cedar beat judge and all that. but seriously, people. it should be mandated that ANY team that can recruit should compete in 5A. can i get an amen?
AMEN!
The Coro situation should be a wakeup call to UHSAA. What a difference one good big man makes in 3a. If 4a or 5a, would have been diluted a little.
Good teams with glossy records are out, for the most part, due to allowing one player to play at JD for half of the bball season.
anon and company,Pine View and Dixie played each other in the final 2 years ago,but don't let the facts get in the way of you guys having the need to hate someone,in this case So Utah.
AMEN they get a very unfair advantage
AMEN!!!!
Amen and Amen, Halleluja Brother. The Teflon Diego Soaring Eagles have a VERY unfair advantage. They should at least be in 4-a. Pablo is good but should already be playing for Weber. if ya know what I mean. The Emery coach called the uhsaa on JD and it fell on deaf ears.Surprise, surprise ( gomer pile)
Excuses, excuses, excuses... All your saying about JD is that your team didnt didnt execute the plays, defend their basket, and make shots. This is getting old, determination wins games, excuses make for a long bus ride home... again for Hurricane. There is no logic for your argument, you know that other teams have won state titles, and nothing was ever said about why they won. Other than they were the better team on that day. Ask yourself if Delta, Wasatch, North Sanpete recruit wrestlers because they win alot... My answer is no, they have the desire to beat others on the matt and not makes excuses for loosing, and take credic for hard work and winning.
STOP COMPLAINING about certain players and just play basketball.
Excuses? Those are sports where one player cannot make a team differenc. One picther that has been recruited because he throws a 90 mph fast ball, a 21 year old basketball player who averages 18 points a game, or quarterback who is 6' 4" 200lbs and can throw the ball. They can make a big difference. You don't see them recruiting any drill team dancers? And if they do, does one dancer make a difference?
There is no logic in the fact that Juan Diego can get a player from Chile in mid-season and not be held accountable for that. Their pre-season wasn't looking good and look what happened, he came suddenly from nowhere. The kid is good and made a huge difference. Look where they are now, because of an illegal aquisition. Put them in 4-a where they belong and then they can all fight over the same players that the other 3-a teams could never have access to.
Emery beat them so did Salem Hills. Man up and play the game and tip your hat to the winners. Quit complaining about recruiting and age. Man you all sound like parents at a little league game complaining about the 7th grader who shaves. Get over it and just win.
JD will be humbled tonight when they get rolled by a real team playing by the rules in BR!!
Why we are even having this conversation on Pablo is probably because we are in Utah. The reason that Coro did not play at the beginning of the season was because he had to get certified by the UHSSA, and had to jump through all of the hoops which he did, and later had to jump through all of the NCAA hoops to get accepted to Weber St. which he did and was certified. Do you really think JD had recruiters in South America looking for high school players? Get real. JD also had a very tough preseason schedule which now is paying dividends. If you haven't noticed they have been underdogs with Coro!!! Would we be having this conversation if some stud changed districts and played for another public school team, or if a Mormon stud moved into the state from out of the country and then attended BYU, went on a mission, and was still playing at 25?
