Who is this writer kidding?Maddow is just another typical drive-by reporter. And like almost everybody else there at NBC, she is totally in the tank for Obama.I have seen the ratings for her show, and it barely registers on the charts.Niel Cavuto, who comes on at 4:00pm on FNC has far better ratings than this drivel of a show. Also, her crummy show on Air America is another yawner that no one takes the time to listen to.What a joke of reporting this article is!

elwood.

And this is news because?

By the way, tell us her numbers. What are her ratings compared to our shows in her time slot. How does her station rank?

liberal larry

Nice story, except it failed to mention a few details about Maddow's life. Like the fact she has a PhD, she was a Rhodes Scholar, and that she is one of the first openly gay individuals to host her own "news" program.

Rachel Maddow can only criticize like a spoiled teenager and has nothing constructive to say. Since she is clearly in the tank for Obama, she will be hard pressed to find any material. Her acidic banter needs no teleprompter because she speaks from her acidic soul.
Liberal Larry, so she has fancy sheepskin? So does Obama, Bush and many other troubled individuals.

Dick Ginnold

She is a great personality, penetrating though relaxed and humorous and a very bright generalist.
Pardon me, but her honest manner shows up the phoniness of faux commentators like Campbell Brown.

Same Media Junk

Until we get back to less divisional media and arguing from a two party system we will be split, and a ravaged economy. This sesationalism and hype by the media is only tearing this country apart. How about just trying to work together, and quit fighting each other for a change? Oh no that can't be done the media will say that would hurt our advertising and bottom line. Well guess what big media, you need to be reduced by at least a 1/2. I'm sick of the constant daily controversy. How about working together to solve our problems and getting rid of the two party system? Now that would be change.

Hal9000

She is a breath if fresh air. I used to like Keith Olberman but he has become almost impossible to watch, he takes himself way too seriously (which she does not do). I used to love Keith for his irreverent and light hearted wit but he has become too serious for his own good. Who needs more doom and gloom?

Biased?

Please, lets call a spade a spade Conservatives. Of course she is biased for the Democrats, she works for MSNBC doesn't she? Wouldn't it be nice to have a news channel who is so unbiased that every host is the epidemy of down-the-middle? I guess in Utah that would be Fox News. You probably all think that Hannity, Rush and Rove are unbiased and only speak the truth, don't you!

Why would any of you be watching her show anyways? Thinking of making the converstion!

You got this part right:

She's never going to appeal to the Fox News audience.

Mean Spirited

I find Rachel Maddow very mean spirited and rude. Everything that Bush did was twisted and made to look like he was an idiot which he is not. You could do the same thing with anyone including Obama if you wanted to make someone look bad. Basically, her show is a propaganda machine for the Democratic party. MSNBC displays the worst type of journalism I have seen in my lifetime. The Republicans should sue them and demand equaul time on this network. I refuse to watch this type of mean spirited, rude, crude display. The article should have pointed out the downside of her show instead of just praising Maddow for this type of terrible rude behavior.

MSNBC

MSNBC is like it's parent NBC--a sinking ship grasping for anything to drag down with it. With the likes of Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, Cris Matthews and their ilk it can only be a matter of time before that Titanic goes under.

Like the person or not the President of the United States demands a level of respect that is absent from MSNBC (unless you're talking about a Democrat, of course). So, even though I might not agree with everything President Obama is doing I certainly won't disrespect him or the office.

Rachel, Keith, Chris and the likes can go the way of Phil Donahue, Ann Coulter and the rest of the group who've gone down in flames. MSNBC and NBC are a joke! It serves them right to be sucking hind wind in TV ratings across the board.

Bill O'Reilly

gets a kick out of the ratings at MSNBC compared to his. He's the "Ford F Series truck" of cable news television. Umpteen years and counting at the top of the ratings.

But let's not let a simple thing like ratings get in the way of MSNBC thinking Rachel Maddow and her "in the tank" liberal crowd are the neatest thing since sliced bread.

bob mell

Rachel Maddow is very good at her job! The crabby rednicks hate everybody and everything so we must try to ignore them and listen to good people like Rachel.

The MSNBC team are less up tight than the Fox crowd. Lots of tongue in cheek, humor. They are more fun, frankly. But, whether Fox or MSNBC, they all have their schtick. They are really entertainers. Keep that in mind before you get your knickers in a twist over whatever any of them say. They are selling their product to their respective audiences. Lighten up, folks. If you like any of them, you can watch. If one of them upsets your tender feelings, walk away.

The Real Story

With the addition of Maddow MSNBC has cemented its position as nothing more than the liberal counterpart to Fox News. Now that the election season is over, and MSNBC has their guy in office, there will be no reason for liberal viewers to tune in any more. Rachel Pelosi Maddow, Keith Move-on dot Olberman, and Christopher Dodd Matthews will all experience a drop in ratings. Currently Fox News has about twice the viewership of MSNBC. Due to the fact that conservatives are on the defensive these days, the only significant opposition to the liberals in power is the conservative media. I predict that conservative tv and radio ratings will increase significantly. I have not been wrong before.

Oh please

How can you say Ashleigh Banfield "failed" on MSNBC.
MSNBC was the problem, not Ms. Banfield.

V H Gill

West Coasters get Keith at 6 and Rachel at 7pm. My husband and I have a "standing dinner date with them". Rachel's style is so real and thoughtful. She exudes intelligence without offending and is always willing to ask the next question of guests who are either lying or mindlessly touting a "party line". She's the best on the air!

Anonymous

She bugs. She's the liberal version of Ann Coulter.

Rachel Fan

I have heard her criticize Obama and wonder where his 16 months and we are out of Iraq has gone. She seems to be ready to question anyone who is not following through on what is promised.

PS. Neither Bush not Obama have a PhD. nor is either one a Rhodes Scholar.

re: Mean Spirited

Yeah, Bush really did a great job as President. It's the evil Liberal media that turned everything he did into a negative. The media created the lies and "misinformation" that started the Iraq war. (Which is still ongoing and would never had ended had McCain won. At the cost of $10 Billion a month.) The media talked Bush into spying on his own citizens without permission (Lets protect the constitition as long as we're talking about guns, but not privacy issues for Americans). The media ran up the highest national debt in history, and the only result to show for that debt was a "revenge" war. The media allowed the financial/mortgage industries to run unleashed, lending to anyone, helping to create the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. The media alienated the US from not just any enemies in the world, but also from even the strongest allies, with his "King Of The World" attitude. The media leaked information regarding a CIA indentification as pay-back for disagreeing with Bush/Cheney. The media ran the unemployement rate sky high in just 8 years.

Yep, all that spin is what made Bush a terrible President!
