Very touching story. I had to choke back some tears while looking at those pictures. I felt a deep sense of gratitude that this man, though he probably didn't think about it often, chose to put his life at risk for me and my family (although somewhat indirectly). I hope his kids know when they are older how much I appreciated their Dad, and of course I hope his wife knows also.

How grateful I am that this family will one day be united again! Although there will still be moments where the loss is overwhelming, I hope that brings some comfort at times.

Thank you Michael Alleman.

Thanks for laying down your life (greather love hath no man than this) so we can be safe.

Amy, I'm so very, very proud of you for your wonderful attitude in the face of losing your husband and the love of your life. I wish all families were able to be as respectful.

God bless you and your children always.

Heartwrenching. Greater love hath no man than he lay down his life for those he loves. May we ever be free thanks to men like Michael Alleman. May we always remember the price.

Mr. Alleman was my teacher. He was a great guy. I was so proud when he went to the Army last year. I hope his family is OK. I will miss him but I am proud I got to have him as my teacher. I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!

Sweet Alleman family---

Even though we don't know you, we feel like you are a part of our "family" because like you, my husband is a part of the Military too. Being a part of such an incredible organization is so binding and honorable among Military families. Not only do we understand your feelings of patriotism and the honor in the Mission for peace, but we also understand your feelings of loniliness and challenging experiences during a deployment. My husband was away from me and our four children for a year in Baghdad...returning last June.

My emotions are so tender this morning as I read this article on the loss of your beloved. Our hearts go out to you in the deepest of ways. Our prayers will be with you...that the angels will carry you and your sweet sons.

Thank you Michael for you and your family's great sacrifice. I am weeping for their loss and for Michael not being able to be there to see his boys grow up. God bless the family.

So very sorry to hear of your loss. What an outstanding person, husband, and father he must have been. We need more people with a caring heart and sense of humor.

Please know that you and your family are in many prayers. Find peace in knowing that you will someday be reunited as a family.

May God grant you and your family solace in your time of grief.

Utah has so very few individuals who volunteer to serve in the military. Here was a man who truly thought that serving his country was an honor and a duty. His love for his country was not just worn on his sleeve; he set aside his hopes and plans & put on the uniform in order to uphold our countrys promise of liberty to oppressed people on the other side of the world.

May G-d bless this family now and in the future as they have to make their way without a husband and father.

My G-d also bless our country's leaders so that they may one day bring all of the soldiers home.

Words cannot describe our deepest sympathy. A loving and kind father, husband and military man who young in life served his fellow man with honor and respect. There are so many young couples that struggle with relationships. You have had the love of your life and it will continue in your hearts forever. Prayers are with you and your beautiful sons. You're always in our hearts.

I was there on the ground with him. He died a man's death in the face of scum who kill women and children for fun and profit. He is a true American hero.

I sit here with tears streaming down my cheeks, overwhelmed by the loss of such a strong American soldier, and the feelings only a wife could have toward her husband. I am amazed by th duty Michael and Amy felt for their country--for the people of this country--for me and my family.

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. I am so sorry for you loss of a powerful husband and daddy. Words cannot express the feelings.
Richard | 8:47 a.m. Feb. 25, 2009
May God bless this family for their sacrifices, their attitude and their example. The world needs more people like these. Thank you all so much.

Mrs. Alleman; Please make sure your sons know of the appreciation that the people of the United States have for their Dad, you and them. I don't even know any of you, and this is more tragic than words can describe, but your love and positive outlook are an inspiration to us all. May God strengthen and sustain you in this difficult time.

They will be together again in a better place,.
Truth | 8:53 a.m. Feb. 25, 2009
May God bless you and your family in your time of need.

Despite what millions of foolish Americans around the country think, your husband and father did not die in vain. He is a hero who died trying to bring a better life to his brothers and sisters.

Through the power of God and the love of His Son, Jesus Christ, you will see him again someday.

John 15: 13 - "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

May I quote Abraham Lincoln?
"I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom."
Thank you Alleman Family! I am forever grateful!

May the arms of mercy and love hold you and your family.

A great hero has died in Iraq. A great hero will continue to raise her family in American Fork.

May God bless and support you.

Thank you for your families sacrifice.

I was at the school your husband taught at. H was a great teacher and person. I remember when He spoke of going to serve for our country. He was very happy and ready. He loved His Wife and two boys. Our prayers are with you. Sincerely, the manager and cooks at Nibley.

I was feeling sorry for myself today for some trivial matters. Then I read this article and felt ashamed of myself and grateful for a brave, selfless family like this. I feel inspired to do something more important with my life. Thank you to the Allemans.
Oh Please | 9:46 a.m. Feb. 25, 2009
When I saw this on TV last night, I cried. What a wonderful man and selfless sacrifice. And what a fine little family. What a loss!
Excuse me for this, but certain people are going to have a lot to answer for.
My Thoughts | 9:51 a.m. Feb. 25, 2009
He was made of different material than I am, I wouldn't have left a teaching job, and my family and volunteered to go to war. He was a brave person and I offer my condolences to the family.
when will it end? | 9:53 a.m. Feb. 25, 2009
At the risk of sounding uncaring at such a tragic and terrible time, one has to ask the question, "When will this end?" My heart goes out to this young family who are going through what no family should ever go through. That said, this fine husband and father certainly was a hero. When all is said and done though these kids will grow up without a father and this mother without her husband.

I pray that an end will come to this war so that no more lives will be disrupted - be they American, Iraqi or whatever.

May God bless you in your time of need.

Thank you Alleman family for your sacrifices for our country. Those two little boys have a very personal lifelong, eternally selfless example in their life that they can look forward to seeing again someday.

As a grown man who also lost his dad at age 7, I know what it is like to go through life without my daddy around. It still hurts but has also given me a greater strength and perspective in life that I would not trade for anything in this world.

God Bless Your Family. Know that your dad/husband/son will be there throughout your life, right when you need him. I promise this is true. I've lived it and continue to live it.

great man - great family | 10:27 a.m. Feb. 25, 2009
John 15: 13 - "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

US soldiers - wow - what patriots and hero's they are. While the rest of the country debates the correctness of the war they stand firm and suffer mud, sweat and sometimes even death and simply serve their country AND the people of Iraq. Micheal Alleman was and is a hero. The Alleman family are great Americans and their sacrifice will not be in vain. May the Lord bless this family.

After serving for 22 years in the Air Force, I have nothing but the tenderest of feelings for those who have chosen to serve, most especially for those who chose that path after 9/11. Mrs. Alleman and sons, your own sacrifice will NEVER be forgotten by those who have served, are serving, and will serve this great nation in the future. I pray that God may give His peace, as only He can, to you and your sons.

The gratitude of strangers can not bring back your husband, but I hope that it will help you some how in the coming days. Thank you for your family's sacrifice. Some give all. May you all find comfort, until you are once again reunited with your good husband.

As a father of a soldier, I mourn the loss of your husband/son/brother this day. I dread the possibility that someday this news may come to me but I also know if that day shall come, as you have, I will stand proud! I am brought to tears every time I see my son stand at attention and salute the American flag. As you know, they are a special kind of person, full of honor and integrity and I thank God they exist in todays world. May God bless you and yours.

My dad was an Air Force Fighter Pilot and I was 4 when my mom had the same visit to her front door! Amazing how this article brought back a flood of memories. My heartfelt thanks for your sacrifice, my condolences for your loss. A friend has this e-mail signature: "They whom we love and lose are no longer where they were before. They are now....wherever we are..." God bless.
