Judge charged with obstructing justice

You make it sound like she is some kind of dangerous criminal instead of a concerned mother who chose not to turn her son in as a result of an incident that involved his alleged non-payment of a cab fare. She didn't break any law other than simply refusing to get involved.
She's accused of harboring or concealing her son from law enforcement. That would require a lot of evidence to prove. Harboring would have required that she provided actual shelter or refuge to him and not just refuse to answer questions.
No one is compelled to provide assistance to police in finding someone whose not in a location that they have control over. In this case, harboring him would require that he hid from police at her house, used her vehicle or place which she controlled as a way to conceal himself from police and she was aware of his intent.
There is no evidence in the article that shes guilty of harboring him.
The burden the DA has to prove is that she knowingly provided him shelter. Not just that they were in the same place at the same time.
This is just one example of a justice court judge doing something he or she shouldn't do in or out of the line of duty. It happens all the time.
