Land grabs are scary, it happened to Lehi when Saratoga and Eagle Mt incorporated. Friendships were split when residents were forced to choose which side of the argument they liked better. Good for these residents for standing up for their rights.
However, costs of starting a city are steep and should be carefully explored. With little to no commercial tax money in the proposed city limit it would be up to the residents to shoulder the burden. And with existing services very close in Spanish Fork and Payson the likelihood that commercial entities could survive in Benjamin would be very poor.
