I love both authors and that helped me clarify why. I would be curious what you have to say about Tolkien and faith as well Mr. College Teacher Guy.

Nibley indeed is an educational adventure. That Mission President pushing books on sales techniques is scary, regardless of good intentions. Give me a missionary who relies on the spirit and honest personal conviction over anyone who teaches by a programmed 'sales pitch'. There is no place in the Gospel for techniques geared for 'selling' and 'greed'. Unfortunately, there are those who rely on their business training to try and teach/preach the gospel. I believe many people see right through that. The Gospel is not for sale. It should be freely and honestly shared.

great line about how critics of religion take the worst in religion and compare it with the best in science, while mormons take all true science and find nothing contradictory... I need to watch for this sort of reasoning in my regular discussions.

Wasn't the entire missionary program based on marketing? The canned discussions etc?

How can anyone explain something well that constantly changes with changing times and public opinion. Much of what was explaination yesterday is no longer relevant today or it is totally glossed over.
