How can Jay Leno possibly be on prime time? He gets pretty raw and risque now, so I can't see parents letting their children watch his show unless he tones it down a lot. I do remember when he was a pretty "clean" comedian who didn't resort to being nasty or filthy, and he was a lot funnier than he is now. I'm not going to be watching him in the future!
If Jay would ever WAKE UP, figure things out and go back to be his FUNNY SELF, with his funny jokes instead of his current VULGAR not-for-prime-time mouth, it could work.
But he's gone too far down the path. He has proven on the Tonight Show that he absolutely can't tell the difference. He THINKS vulgar IS funny. He could have emulated the BEST of his mentor Johnny Carson, and instead chose to take the WORST.
Instead of giving him a prime-time slot, NBC should give him a large bar of soap to wash out that filthy mouth of his.
(Can you apply sudsy soap a filthy brain and filthy intent??)
I can't believe this is even in the news. Who really cares? We have much better things to "worry" about these days. Personally, I think Leno and Lettermen are very trashy and not worth viewing. I attended the Lettermen show last fall. What a buffoon. After seeing what goes on behind the scenes, I have never watched him since then. If none of us watched this type of show, they would be replaced. Our tastes have dwindled. So sad.
I didn't stay up late to watch him on the Tonight Show and I certainly won't give up a good drama elsewhere to watch him on prime time.
I really like Jay Leno a lot, but NBC has turned so far left that it has lost a lot of viewers. Personally, I don't watch them any more and I hope they go down.
I gave up TV a good long while ago when I was a too-busy-and-too-poor-for-TV college students, preferring to spend down time actually socializing instead of in front of the boob tube, and this only solifies my decision to not have TV in our home. I mean, what is the point?!?!? If we're not getting news, if we're not getting anything good or positive out of it, why in the world do you want it on and filling your minds with its trash?
I absolutely love Leno. Glad to see I won't have to stay up late to watch him anymore.
I used to watch Leno for the first half hour because I receive my TV from Salt Lake City so in my time zone he was on at 9:30 PM. I watched him because there was absolutely nothing else to watch, the I found reruns of Frasier came on USA at the same time so I watch him until bed time. Leno is to heavy with political and knocks against individuals for my taste.
Leno is great, and I think it is wise to put him on ealier. I still think there are better choices for "The Tonight Show" than Conan!
I will watch Leno when he moves to prime time. I think his jokes will be toned down some. I know for one thing, I will not be watching anything with Conan O'Brian. Conan is an unfunny spastic person.
I can watch what I want when I want, and it definitely won't be Leno nor O'Brien.
wow wow... i think this is a smart move on NBC's behalf. If the show tanks then ABC isn't going to want him as much. On the other hand, Conan has a pretty good following by younger audiences.
I think that NBC has some of the better shows on television right now. Obviously there are some bad ones but most things are better than "Terminator" or "Life on Mars"
The question i want answered is what's going to happen to Thursday night line-ups for NBC? I mean they have "the office" and "30 rock", which get good ratings. Maybe (hopefully) they will get rid of "Kath and Kim" and shift everything down.
(Ha, who knew TV VIEWING could be so complicated? Glad I'm not an executive or anything.)
Leno is really awful at interviews. He may be able to tell a joke or two, but his strong suit definitely isn't interviewing. I don't watch him now and won't watch his new show. Conan, however, may compete for my time with Letterman. I like both.
10 p.m. Pacific time is still too late for me to watch TV--maybe at least I'll be able to catch his monologue. 9 p.m. would be better...
Leno is an opinionated prick and not fit for the public to listen to. Not much better thatn Letterman. Too bad Johnny Carson couldn't live forever.
What's not to love about Jay? He seems to be one of the better people in Hollywood. However, Conan will be great! His talk show is the funniest of them all!
Wonder what they'll do with Law and Order? Guess I'll be watching CSI instead.
Its a desperation move by NBC...their prime time shows are terr-i-ble and are 4th rated overall. Conan will not fare much better...he has been getting beat in the ratings by Craig Ferguson. Kimmel's funnier than all of them anyway.
