I can smell the grass already. Go RSL!!!

Robbie Findley?

is he part of the team this year?

Thanks

Thanks for the update. RSL fans are dying for info on what is going on with the team. We can't wait for the season to begin. I love watching the EPL, but there is nothing like having your own local team to support.

t.mac

again, thanks for the report & soccer coverage in general. the other local paper doesn't seem to carry any

I guess maybe

it is true that no news is good news. Still I'd rather hear something cuz the season starts soon and I have soccer on the mind.

Nazdar

I have had soccer on my mind since November. Can't wait for this season to start. Thanks for the coverage.

Bring on the games! I anticipated the opening of spring practice and now I can hardly wait for the first game. As a transplanted Utahn in Washington, I'll cheer RSL on to victory against the Sounders!

boom

I am so excited for this season, I bought season tickets for the first time, I will be there every game to cheer them on.

Boring!!!!

None of this is news. We're glad the D-News is paid to push soccer but those funds are going to dry up- unless the love-gov keeps giving RSL sugar.

Re: Boring!!!!

..you just keep telling yourself that buddy...

Re: Boring!!!

I dare you to come back here in September and say that (RSL will have hosted the all-star game and a World Cup Qualifier for the US men's national team by then) RSL is going to "dry up".
Oh, and i cant wait to see you at the stadium during the playoffs

?

There's nothing boring about the most played, and watched sport in the world....

Rob

Where have all the updates gone? the season is almost here!!

Re: Rob

Agreed. I don't see why a local paper can't pay for someone to travel with the team. I want pre-season info. Tell me about some of the trialists. Last year, James had a small update....but that has seem to have died out.

nerves

This is rediculous. We have a professional sports team that begins its season in about three weeks and the DNews can't supply one word of news. When was the last story ran on RSL? FEB 17th! When was the blog last updated? FEB 13th!
The DNews has not ran one story about a trialist, team rumors, or even worried about giving a result to a scrimage. If a reporter is'nt present with the team can they not print anything at all?
Poor coverage DNews your fans deserve better service.

Thank you nerves

I'll help the DNEWS do their job. Wingert has signed an extension to be with RSL until 2012, terms of the extension were not released. Here's a hint DNews after basketball and golf, soccer is probably the most played sport here in Utah. Anyone who disagrees should go to the indoor field in Murray they have games every night M-F from 3pm to midnight and on Saturday the games go literally all day. Some of us love soccer and would love to hear even just a little bit about what RSL is up to. Thanks

RSL fan

It's pretty bad when the fans have to write in on a 3 week old article blog spot to give each other news (the news didn't come from a DNews article hint hint).
Thanks for the news on Wingert! I had been hearing rumors (not from the DNews of course) that he was unhappy with his contract and may have been headed to Red Bull. Where did you hear the news from (hint hint DNews)?

Go RSL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just thought that I would let the people at the Deseret News know that the Tribune totally beat you to the Wingert contract story.

Real fan

The popularity of soccer, and in the Salt Lake area RSL, continues to rapidly grow. The Desert News is only going to help the growth and quality of their paper by giving RSL, and the game itself, the coverage it deserves, and still is not getting....Great to learn Wingert has signed an extension with REAL. He was one of the cornerstones of the club last season and is one of RSL's deserving all stars.
