Call the Museum of Church history downtown to schedule a presentation of Utah pioneer artifacts for your school. Trained docents will give you an excellent program on pioneers and Southwest Indians with some hands-on activities (music, dance, outfitting for the trail, sandpainting, kachinas) that fit in well with the 4th grade curriculum.
While it is true that the first pioneers in this area were Mormons, the presentation is NOT a religious presentation.
