I am so saddened by the loss of these local newspapers. I've always enjoyed Marc Haddock's work with these papers. It seems that we first consolidate, then marginalize, then eliminate the local voice, whether in these newspapers, government, education, business. We lost Lehi State Bank the same way and much earlier the Lehi School District. I miss the old local businesses that served the community with what we needed, not just what was profitable. They donated to the local community causes and paid local taxes. In the end we are not better served by big, distant business, government, or newspapers.
