This is so disappointing. Moreso because I know Whedon has to say that the new Pilot is better than the original for PR, but I wonder if this new Pilot is really better than the original one Whedon shot. From what I've gathered from interviews with him the Fox execs had a completely different idea of what the show was going to be, different from Whedon's original idea. I wish we could have seen it as he originally imagined it. I bet it would have been much better.
I'm willing to give it a shot, and let's hope enough others stick around to give this show a chance!
The concept has potential for some great storytelling. I for one will give it a chance. It's Whedon, after all.
Although I do think the premier was rather lackluster compared to his other shows: Buffy, Angel, and Firefly (my favorite of the three -- curse Fox for canceling it).
Some shows take time to hit their stride. I hope Fox will give Dollhouse that chance.
I disagree, the author of this story is either intellectually deficient or purposefully mendacious. The premiere of Dollhouse was neither confusing nor lackluster. Perhaps the author was playing sudoku or doing a crossword puzzle while watching. This show has incredible potential, and, like Buffy and Angel, left the audience hungry for more. I apologize to the author that Mr. Whedon does not always cater to the simpler viewers. For this author I recommend less complex shows such as Barney and Friends or Wishbone.
I agree with the reviewer. I am a big fan of Firefly, but I was disappointed in the pilot for Dollhouse. Yes it has an interesting premise, but then it ended up like an episode of CSI. I'll continue to watch, though, in the hopes that it gets better.
Bland bland bland. I hear Fox is already talking about its replacement. Too bad, because they apparently made so many changes in the first place that this isn't even Whedon's baby. Then when their dumb ideas don't pan out, they cancel it.
