And they all said Aman!

Joey

Interesting how Malonis wouldn't elaborate on how she got ahold of the documents, most of which bore no relevance to her case. At the very least the release of them to her violates one of many need-to-know policies in Law Enforcment. At the most it appears to be a move by LE to get the evidence out into the open by using her due-to-be-non-suited child custody case for depositions, so that the evidence can be perhaps be acknowledged by the FLDS before it gets suppressed, and to further malign the church in the eyes of the public.

And as for Shurtleff saying, No there isn't any evidence of crimes. He's lying through his teeth. There's plenty of evidence of crimes. He just wants the FLDS feel at ease about acknowledging the evidence's existence.

Cats

This man is CLEARLY completely diluded. It would be sad if it weren't so sordid. He has committed crimes again women and children and lead a group of good people astray. He's done horrible things to animals and flaunted the laws of the land.

This is a classic example of what the scriptures speak of when warning us to beware of false prophets.

By the way, I was just in the French Quarter recently. It was the part of New Orleans that weathered Hurricane Katrina the BEST. It had almost NO damage at all. I would agree that there is a lot of evil in the French Quarter. But, clearly "Uncle Warren's" admonitions to God didn't do ONE THING.

The man is a FRAUD.

Unless you believe that Jeffs has devine powers, his delivering devine judgement is a matter of no consequence.

Well, it was nice while it lasted! With over 80 wives he was a happy man while on the run!

PENNY

SICKO!

re: nosugrof

That's not true at all. We don't have to buy into Jeffs' delusions of grandeur in order to recognize him as a criminal and a threat.

I still can't believe this is happening in the USA !!!
This place should be evacuated and all the people in there should be moved to safety.
Then the gates should be locked so no one can enter it.

Xcricker

This man seeks power and he will do whatever it takes to get it. He uses god to hide behind the person he realy is.

This kind of writing shows a small glimpse of exactly why so much preparation and expense was taken before TX approached YFZ ranch/compound. It was well understood that Jeffs had/still has utter control over all minds there and that one brief order from him could cause complete catastophe. Ex -members from his group knew he was capable of anything for his own reasons in his own mind and that he is/was worshipped and feared. The media still has never done a good job showing the true extent of this group's madness and hypocrisy. They have continued to be portrayed as pure, helpless, harmless creatures in an unending sea of persecution by a totally wicked society, which they still try to use and be part of, when they finally bring themselves into such predictable messes of their own making. They have flouted many laws for a long time, and been their own universe, to the point of stunting and destoying many of their own .

If you think Jeffs "resembles the past Mormon church" you know very little about the Mormon church or their history. Clearly this is a man - Jeffs - and a group that is not in favor with society - nor should they be - but neither should the gay communities, abortionists, "baby harvesters," etc, if we are speaking on an ethical/moral scale. What is the good of critical analysis in one case if it is not correctly applied in any others that would violate the true gospel of Jesus Christ? And why besmirk the names of the innocent? Some people in this world are just wicked - by their own choosing; others are misguided and other still need emotional or psychological help. Justice does need to be served but can it not be served on the plate of mercy, not retribution or unaccounability, just simply a plate of mercy? There are always too many who are too quick to be too judgemental and never enough who are willing to be enlightened. Let the guilty pay their price without exacting an embezzlement from the innocent. Gratefully, God is our ultimate judge!

What is a terrorist on our home soil and was it ever answered what the cyanide instruction found at the YFZ ranch was for? Warren like any crime boss ran his empire from inside a prison cell. Unlike drug lords or crime bosses, Warren considered himself equal to god and through blind obedience the faithful would of killed others or themselves, if ordered to do so.

The hundreds of pages now released make good reading, try May 3rd of 2007 God talking to his servant Warren Jeffs, relayed to his faithful eg. Merrill Jessop.

And yet the apologist on these blogs and pro FLDS web sites have spent months defending a cults leader who wanted all of us dead, swept from this earth by any imagiable distruction, hopefully by natural means, but that is still an open question.

This person is, of course, the leader of a cult, and the chief mark of a cult is blind obedience to the leader(s). Another mark of a cult is that it always causes mental, physical and familial distress, and as such cannot possibly be from God.

I would love to serve on jury duty for some of these polygamist men. They would all be in prison if I had my way about it.

Jed:

"I would love to serve on jury duty for some of these polygamist men. They would all be in prison if I had my way about it. "

Which is probably why you are not on the jury. The defense attorney would eliminate you from the pool of jurors because you already know.

Simpletons

To Alex---WELL DUH!

actually

reading a lot of that reminds me of the writings and speeches Brigham Young gave after moving to Utah. Kinda erie. Don't believe me? Go pull out the journal of discourses. They're all there.

Sadness

I can't believe our country is still allowing this cult leader to control and contact the "followers". The abuse of women, children and men continues. The "followers" are made now of people with no will of their own and an inability to make choices. They really will find it hard to survive in mainstream society, but I believe they can and will if given a chance.

I am surprised when Mormons complain about the FLDS, these devout Mormons follow the Church exactly the way it was originated. Some Mormons still deny the fact that Joseph Smith had 38 documented celestial wives.
The main stream LDS Church would still be practising the 'Principle' today had they not been forced to give it up in order to gain statehood. the F.L.D.S are authentic Mormons the L.D.S are apostate's
I wonder what the result would be if either Profit 'Jeffs' or Profit 'Monson' were to proclaim through direct revelation from God that all worthy followers shall sacrifice their first born child, thousands if not millions of the followers of these false profits would comply, and It would make Jones-town look like child's play.

Law and Order?

The seizure of these documents is still of questionable legality, and yet somehow it's fine to simply release them to the public?

Honestly, if the law can't protect a minority who are clearly hated by almost everyone, what good is it?
