Always interesting when they cannot figure out why things are happening that "global warming" must be mentioned as a possible factor. When you are stumped blame it on "global warming", how convenient!!
dear dina, have you read the "state of fear"? your headline to this article coulpled with your comments throughout your article i.e. ..."the study suggests that", seem exactly what crighton (sp?) was talking about. why not take a more honest approach and add a "i wonder..." to the begginning of your article title...or "some speculate that..." might even work. are you trying to scare people into believing something you yourself do not even know to be fact? you credibility goes down the toilet with this kind or reporting...at least in the eyes of those who want to see.
Since this winter has produced record cold temperatures, there must be a lot of frozen little finches and other birds lying around!
If I read another article on this fictitious global warming, I am going to puke!
Winter temps have increased 5 degrees inthe USA? The national weather service doesn't seem to be aware of this.
This is awesome. Maybe we'll get to see some of these birds in Northern Utah! A benefit of Global Warming!!
So what is global warming is fiction? I don't see how cleaning up the air I breathe is going to hurt anybody, and it creates jobs.
Cleaning up the air is good, but eliminating CO2 is NOT cleaning up the air. There are too many people believing that we need to get rid of CO2, and that is the biggest fraud since the Nazi's "cleaned" the planet of Jews. CO2 is NOT A POLLUTANT!
The underlying premise of this entire article says that the world is still warming, when it definitely is NOT.
It also seems that the news media cannot print but the false side of the issue. I can't remember the last time I read an article in the Deseret News that promotes the truth about global warming, and the great fraud against CO2, but then, of course, cowardice is easy, and courage is hard.
This is just furtherance of a trend that has been in progress since the last ice age. Yes the earth is slowly warming up to its own normal and melting the ice as it goes. Notice that Mexico/Southern US has very little ice? Pretty soon, middle america will be the same. I sure hope it gets here quick, its cold outside.
The methodology used (Audubon's Christmas birdcount)is hardly a scientifically-valid protocol. If you've ever been on one of these you know they are more social outings than scientific expeditions. It's not uncommon to have 25 people in one spot counting the same bird. Audubon counts this as 25 different birds. Also, birdwatchers, driven by the competitive urge to add to their lifelists, are prone to being over-imaginative, often claiming to see an ivory-billed woodpecker when what they are really watching is a common bird like a robin.
Exactly. And the Audubon Society is hardly what I would call a disinterested party; they have long supported the Global Warming Hoax.
Another very likely explanation is that many bird populations -- such as the Sandhill crane -- are recovering from being depleted during the first half of the century.
Seeing Sandhill cranes in new places is not necessarily a sign of global warming; it's more likely due to the an expanding crane population reclaiming habitats that they normally occupied when the first settlers arrived.
There are multiple lines of evidence suggesting that the world is warming up and that humans are the cause. There is also widespread consensus in the scientific community that global warming is occuring. These conclusions are based upon evidence produced by sound scientific studies. For example, I examined data on the date of ice over and ice off from three lakes in Wisconsin from data dating back to the late 1800s. I found a statistically significant trend that as time progresed the date of ice on occured later, and the date of ice off occured earlier. What is the explanation? Any logical minded person would conclude that there was a warming trend. Scientists interpret and explain the evidence. Although the christmas bird count has imperfections, it has recorded data for approx 100 years and is very good at detecting presence absence data and general trends in populations. From the data, the most logical, nonpolitical explanation is that birds are expanding northward because ______? Conversley, a few politically slanted ney-sayers who pull for big business give scant, non scientific evidence to the contrary and the majority of the right wing jumps on board
