Marjorie Cortez: Octuplets' mother needs more than our concern

Note: It looks as tho' injections are a part of this young woman's life, from her lips on down.
The penny pinching conservatives who are worried over her taking some of their money are wasting their time. There are probably people in America that will hold her in their hearts and love all those kids.
I just hope that all the children will eventually have the opportunity to grow up in good, loving, caring and closer to normal families and homes.
She's not being criticised for her "success", she's being criticised for her "excess".
And don't make the false assumption that it's only "Penny pinching Conservatives" that have a problem with this situation.
Freedom from consequence is life without freedom.
In a free society we get to make stupid decisions, until we are no longer free.
Just because your allowed to be stupid, doesn't mean you should.
Unfortunately, once the reality of 14 kids - 8 of them infants and 3 of the older kids having special needs - sets in, she may find herself unable to care for that many herself, but unable to realize that maybe it's in their best interests to be raised elsewhere. At least they're now on CFSD's radar. Hope they check in regularly.
However, why is nobody mentioning the unethical actions of the doctor? Sure it may have been legal, but it's disgusting that any medical "professional" - and I use that term loosely - would artificially impregnate a woman with no job, not support outside of her parents, and obvious mental issues.
Much of the outrage expressed at this "mother" - and she obviously is only one in the biological sense - should be shared with the doctor who performed it.
What is most frustrating about people such as this woman is that it is impossible for people to refuse to help due to not wishing to punish the children.
I doubt if anyone would support every one of those programs but you have to pay for them in any case.
No one has the right to judge this lady or her children. They may be a drag on the society or they may be star performers who will lead the world of the future.
We/the government are currently funding all religious charity work? The construction and operation of every religious building??? Because we aren't collecting taxes from them?
You really think you are paying for the construction of ANY church? You'd have to really bend over backwards and spin it just right to make that case.
Do you want ALL charities to be taxed? Or just religious charitable contributions? And how do you think that would help the poor or the community in general?
I agree that we should make sure the children are taken care of, but if she is unable to do it, then the state should probably step in and find homes that can. People chronically abuse the system knowing that society wants to take care of children. They know we won't let their kids go hungry, homeless, or without healthcare, so they don't feel the need to provide these things.
It is time we start telling parents that they only have a limited time to receive benefits for themselves and their children, and if they don't work to be self sufficient, then we find new homes for the kids. If we are going to pay for the children anyways, we might as well do it the right way and dump the parents off the rolls in the process.
When they get cut off, maybe they will actually work harder, or prioritize better.
I think the American public has the right to judge individuals who ask us to support them and their families. We have a right to place limits on who is eligible for and how long they should be eligible for welfare benefits.

If more people thought like you we might not have all the fuss about limiting the salaries of CEOs and the fight against regulations of businesses.

You really have a twisted way of looking at things (especially taxes).
Ultra Bob
All you have to do is think. If churches and Religions paid their fair share of taxes, your taxes would be less.
Really? Maybe everyone should start reporting money given to them for a birthday present also.

What a wonderful home those children will grow up in - 4 bedrooms for 14 children and at least 1 adult (if her parents make good on their statement of leaving), not to mention the hired help she'll need.
This lady had no business even wanting ONE more child. I'm not a hard-hearted Republican, but c'mon, enough is enough. I'm tired of my tax dollars supporting people for the rest of their lives.
