When he used the stuff it was not illegal.
How about finding out who released 'confidential' information? I would like to know who is doing this.

RSP

I agree with Brigham. Alex got a raw deal (of course he shouldn't have been "juicing") but the Players Association had a deal that those tests were private and strictly a survey.
That said, Chipper Jones better be a first ballot Hall of Famer because we KNOW he did it the right way

CeeCee

Who CARES about how the information came to light. HE DID IT. Who CARES if it was "legal" back then, it was still cheating. His performances are tainted. Just like Bonds, and McGwire and many others.

And still, Rose is BANNED from the Hall of Fame because of bets he placed as a manager and the JUICERS are held up as heroes. What a joke!!

Who's Alex Rodriguez?

george

CeeCee is right - who cares.

He is just like all the other professional athletes, the movie stars, the singers, the movie stars; and the rest of the elite crowd. they get caught in either drugs, alcohol, doing the nasty, but who cares.

A-rod will go into rehab for a couple of months, and come out and go back to baseball. And the crowd will roar.

Who cares if he used drugs?

Jack

All records that came by all baseball players that used illegal drugs should be crossed out of the record books and the awards given to those players should go to players that are free from drugs. Other sports take away awards given for illegal drugs, so why not baseball. All these illegal home run records are a sham. If a player won't answer a straight question about enhancement drugs and their use of those drugs in a Congressional hearing or in court, then take away any and all records we thought they earned by being clean and fair.

I am puzzling over this issue, truly. On the professional level, who should care about whatever means an athlete uses to enhance his performance? Aren't we, as fans, playing the Pollyanna card here? These are not amateurs. These are play for money guys. At that level, if an athlete chooses to play sport, why do we care what he or she does to gain an edge? This whole hand wringing thing over performance enhancing drugs is akin to those who agonize over professional wrestling as though it was anything more than entertainment. At the amateur level, I can see the concern with a level playing field. The concern with youth destroying their bodies with contraband is a concern, but once the professional level is breached, why do we delude ourselves with some moral, altruistic notion of fairness or *'s placed by names? Truly folks, why do we care? Because we delude ourselves that they are just like us. If not for the drugs, we'd be just like them. Say it ain't so Joe, because it ain't.
